Am I the only person who's been updating Spotify/iTunes with songs from GTA V? Feels like I've got half the soundtrack...

Motorist discovered around Cadnam running his Mercedes with the bonnet open. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-24367601 Before one leaps onto the obvious bandwagon of how dangerous and stupid his action is, a few points. One, the driver isn't doing it for fun. It's to get the car back to it's destination, which I would imagine, must be relatively close. Two, instead of being idiotic, the driver is actually being resourceful. Clearly, there has been a failure [probably a charging failure] and so the driver has rigged the external engine starting unit to be an auxiliary battery. Many people would stand by the side of the road waiting to be rescued. This person rescued himself. Three, it's dangerous. Actually, it isn't. Bonnets held in the open position quite often allow adequate vision between the car body and the bonnet itself. Driven slowly, the bonnet won't move. OK, I've assumed a couple of things there and have just thrown a less shock, horror light on the scene. And we know what assumption is the mother of... If I'm correct in my assumption, in my opinion, what the driver did wasn't altogether idiotic but actually resourceful. His real wrongdoing was to be seen doing it. And now I'll change back to being an ordinary member of the public, and jump onto that bandwagon. What a stupid idiot to try such a thing and think he could get away with it.:)

Going by the never-reliable Wikipedia, that's his first goal at any level in the football pyramid.

Seems like the DM are in reverse gear now with what will become a series of strategic backtrackings/half-apologies. Still some life in the story though, might be a bit late to stop heads rolling...hopefully.

I'll tell you how they could make them idiot proof. The Victorians had the answer. Make them manned gates, operated by a person on the spot. Can't do that though because that'll cost extra money.

Seriously, all it would take would be sensors to detect objects between the barriers to lift the gates, and if they really wanted to solve the problem, they could. The will isn't strong enough though.

Or just regard train crossings as a way of improving the gene pool.

The Fail seems to have offered some sort of apology, but I don't believe they have regarding their story. I also see Tory minister Michael Gove has said there is no need for the Fail to apologise, in any case, stating that the free press is the price we pay for liberty.
I hope he remembers that last line if his time ever comes.

Pretty sure it isn't the first time he has been nominated; IIRC, he earned a nomination either right after or during the war with Georgia.
