We signed Austin and Philips on long term contracts and Dunne and Henry on short term deals. What's short sighted about that?

I haven't agreed with our transfer policy for the last two years where we bought on previous reputation rather than correct attitude. We got it badly wrong.
I'm sure Harry was given money and told to keep us in the Prem at all costs. It was a gamble and didn't work. We now know why. The squad was split from top to bottom with egotistical dicks. TF and PB must take their share of the blame for this.
What happened this summer,IMO, was impressive. Nobody wants to see our squad being ripped apart every six months but deep down we all knew we had sold our soul. Several players had no loyalty at all to our club and had to go. The players we bought in were not the big names we had become accustomed to over the last two years but they all have one thing in common, the correct attitude. Personally, I was delighted with our transfer policy and think the results back this up.

These three, especially Dunne, are putting in great shifts so far this season, to the very best of their abilities. Seems like many said similar things about Derry, Hill & Mackie when Warnock brought them in?
 
Credit where its due, there's no denying where we stand, we have assembled easily the best team in the division and it seems have started to play football, which to be fair Harold's teams have always done.

But I'm afraid I've always thought he was overrated, he doesn't take accountability (at least not in public), his media presence is irritating to me, and he made me sit through some of the worst performances I have seen from a QPR team last season (I know that Hughes and the players take more than a slice of the blame, but H had six months, enough to have given us some pride if not keep us up). He just doesn't feel QPR to me. Not moaning, just an opinion and I'm not going to argue the point beyond this post, but the question was asked. The last thing I want is for him to go during the season, I have nothing to gain by him failing.

This should be a great season, we will be promoted and clearly the strategy is to get the Premier League cash and rebuild again. The board, and possibly McLaren, deserve some of the credit too.

And Nuts, the transfer policy was set by the board, not Harold. He attempted some crude threats/ blackmail when he didn't get what he wanted - Bridge for example, and continually said we should not loan players but sell them (which he didn't help by talking them down), and we ended up loaning them to get at least some of the wage bill down.

The reason we needed so much turnaround this summer was because of the poor transfer policy with type of players contracts given etc over the previous couple of season so not really Harry's fault.

The policy over the summer has been varied with some younger long term players as well as some older shorter term players to to a job now which is what they're currently doing. If we do get promoted there's no doubt we'll need to strengthen but won't be a case of another 15 players, nothing like that.

Not convinced about his tactics if he has any at all ... He is wonderful with the media ... And that's the only thing I know about him and can judge him by

It may all be front but old players who have played under him have said he does little... I can see a great motivator in him there is no doubt of that

The people love him but I have always held back .... Maybe it's a trust thing

I don't need to quote the man since he has been with us ... There is already a big list of material

Our team and club is strong at the moment and I thank him for that but I still believe his heart is at Spurs

Ii ride the waves when they are here and I hope one day I fix my opinion about him ... I love the club and just don't want some big shot mucking it up
 
Harry has already said if he doesn't get us up this season he's failed and will go, you don't have to be Mystic Meg to realise that. What he has done is firstly make us bloody difficult to score against and solid enough to nick results, and secondly added the magic ingredients of flair and a passing game that's coming together.

We're still a work in progress but the expectation is building, position and points-wise we're exactly the same as we were in 2010-11 which based on some of our stuttering early-season performances is a bonus. Yesterday's performance was the best I can remember since we went to Derby in Magilton's time and played them off the park from 2-0 down. It would be ironic if Derby now nick McClaren but I'm sure we will continue to improve as we've got the blend just right in both experience and attitude...

We are still playing catch up from the summer we were promoted when the goons tried to sabotage us. Since then we've had to panic buy, up until Hughes last summer, but then we had to get rid of nearly everyone. Bringing in so many signings just wasn't going to work, but then the players we had in the squad just weren't good enough.

But it just shows, when people were moaning when we were relegated, saying Harry had had enough time to turn things around!? But he still had Hughes's team of misfits. He hasn't tried to replace everyone, just anyone who didn't want to play in the championship, and then added players who were willing to play for us.

But some people still need to open their eyes, because some players deserve some credit instead of constant abuse. Zamora, he shouldn't be playing, he needs an operation but that would have ruled him out till the end of his contract, so we've told him to play and he has, and made things worse for himself in the process. Does that deserve the criticism he's received? Not in my book. He might not be the player we'd hoped for, but he's battled on with an injury and I think that deserves some credit for at least trying.

AJ, is and always has been a great player, he's just one of those players who is very delicate and has be blighted with injuries his whole career. It's a shame it isn't working for him, but Flyer spouting of about 'I told you so', what a plank you are!!! Any true fan will give him credit for trying and staying, he proved what he can do if he's fit and that's what we should all be hoping for! But Harry knows it isn't going to work out with him, which is why we tried to off load him.

But just look at everyone Harry has brought in, has there been a single failure? With the players who are ageing we've signed on short term contracts, young players we've committed to longer contracts. So all around I can't see that there is much to moan about, Harry's sorted the team and TF and PB are now keeping contracts sensible. For most of us we'll just enjoy the ride, as QPR fans always do. Flyer you can just carry on moaning and taking your prozac, but take it from me, life is more enjoyable with smile on your face and enjoy things instead of waiting for impending doom to strike.

I rarely contribute to this board, content to let others do it for me. But the continued ill informed and downright stupid comments by Flyer have eventually persuaded me to get involved. He reminds a lot of Boyinthe bush from the old BBC 606 site. Blinkered and negative in everything he writes. I had hoped that his pointless comments would slow down or cease when the kids went back to school and he was busy with homework, but it seems that he my be older than his comments led me to believe.
Just to confirm that yesterday there was one player, Hill, who played regularly last season. So that was a completely new team, unbeaten. HR has moulded a team out of an absolute shambles from last season and shipped out 21 players. He has signed the best team in the 14 years I have been a season ticket holder and for years previously when I can occasionally.
He has the support of Jordan and MacClaren who are a management dream team in this division.
Anybody who can still continue to deny these facts is blind, bigoted and a total idiot.

Re. Redknapp's management style: Some years ago I read a study of the respective management styles of one Winston Churchill and a certain Adolf Hitler. The study involved interviews with individuals that had the good fortune (or misfortune) to come into contact with both these leaders during their periods of power. It concluded that the key difference in style was this: those that were in the presence of the Fuhrer attained the belief that there was a man that was capable of anything, whereas those in the presence of Winnie came away believing that they themselves were capable of anything. In other words, Churchill inspired others to realise or exceed their own potential; Hitler inspired people to follow him and bask somewhat in his reflected glory (if what that sick **** achieved could be termed thus).

Whilst taking immense care not to lead others to believe that I am in any way comparing Redknapp to the erstwhile occupant of Blenheim, perhaps there is some commonality in the way Our 'Arry inspires his players. If it's not because he does tactics and formations to the nth degree, maybe it's simply because his players enter the field feeling good and energised and capable of anything?
 
He's doing well and if yesterday is anything to go by I can't wait for the rest of the season. Only concern is top vs bottom next week - I always hate that fixture and hope there is no complacency after brushing Boro aside so comprehensively yesterday.

For the Henry haters he did very well when he came on yesterday and I'm not his biggest admirer.

I posted the out of contract players. 16 of them dont have a contract and maybe 3 of them are good enough to earn a new one.

10 have contracts but we want to get rid of 2 of them so thats only 8 confirmed players for next season.
