Sunderland players given a say in Paolo Di Canio replacement SEVERAL leading Sunderland players have been canvassed over who should replace Paolo Di Canio by billionaire owner Ellis Short, and the overwhelming majority say they would prefer a British manager. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ers-given-a-say-in-Paolo-Di-Canio-replacement It doesn't sit well with me that the players (if true!?) are being asked who their preference is. I'd love to know WHO the 'British' favourite is that the players want?
I do not want Pullis or McClaren, but I wouldn't dream of stop supporting the lads if they did come like some have said...At the end of the day they will still be my team when the next manager moves on as well..
Kevin Ball, any day of the week!!He is Mr Sunderland, and will keep us up and get us playing good football.
He seems a good up and coming manager, but I have heard no suggestion that he has been linked with us..
No I think its absolutely correct this like - I was on Roker pier yesterday and Ellis Short along with a few others (I think it was the board but I cannot be certain) asked me if I would prefer an English manager and funnily enough the managing director at work today was asking me who I would like for my boss - must be a new management thing from america
Only linked by someone at my work who is also a youth coach at a totally unrelated London club. He also said Poyet will be going up the road.
the more i think about it the more i'm leaning towards mclaren, it seems to me its only personal dislike that people have against him, his record in the league is excelent plus he knows the area and fan base, if some people could forget about the wally with the brolly thing and judge him on his acheivements instead we would be getting a very good all round manager and he's capable of doing the job.
Good god if our players get to choose the next manager we might as well throw in the towel and declare it bankrupt. These ****ters have failed 3 otherwise reputable managers without a jolt of responsibility falling their way. All they have accomplished is to leave our club up **** creek. I've got no strong opinion on our new manager (first time ever) but I see no reason why he should have to be British. We signed 14 players in the summer and only one was a Brit. De Fanti and Angeloni are clearly calling the shots so I think it'll be Poyet, RDM or Zola. Anybody got any idea what De Fanti and Angeloni have ever done to assume such a seemingly comfortable position?
