Three for me tomorrow; WATERED SILK 2.15 8-1 I have been told that there are a couple in the Wadham yard well worth following this season and this is one of them. SPIRIT OF SHANKLY 3.55 lost his way after a promising start last season but is a very taking sort and recent work suggests he will be a shoo-in for a race such as this. They will be mightily disappointed if he doesn't win here. LONG LUNCH 5,05 is considered the biggest certainty to win a bumper by the yard. At home he is leaving them for dead. Charlie Deutsch claiming 10lbs is a massive bonus. If this doesn't win I may as well get my coat (a lot of you wish). Going to have a look at the Cambridgeshire now and see if anything stands out! Good luck all.
The yard likes to support its younger jockeys as well the retained jockey Bob. especially in bumpers! Look how many winners Kielan Woods rode for them last year. To emphasise the point, Spirit Of Shankly won this bumper last year under Kielan Woods!
Two of my main fancy`s tomorrow are over the sticks at Market Rasen, in the first Alan Kings Duroble Man is highly thought of and they hope he is there Triumph Hurdle horse. No prices atm but I will be backing him to win a race in which King has a good record in. In the 3.25 I like the look of O`Crotaigh 8/1, price looks big imo at a C+D were he has run 5 times and won 4. He has won off a 1lb higher mark over C+D and a retrun to this C+D can see him go well again at a decent price. Best of luck with your selections
Just looked - it's a conditionals and amateurs race. He'll win if he's that well thought of. Wish todays had. I had it in a £50 double with the winner of the 5pm at 3/1 and 12/1. Gutted is not the word but you can't win them all and the silver lining is we are one day closer to real racing.
Yes badger. Its the perfect race for him isn't it?!? Had that prep run on the flat which has put him straight and at 25-1 I think he is worth a little each way. He has been trained with this race in mind and the jockey bookings look interesting.
3 for me so far tomorrow 3.30 Haydock Noble Storm 12/1 3.50 Newmarket Educate 14/1 4.05 Haydock B Fifty Two 12/1 Will go into more detail later on.
After a brief look at the Cambridgeshire I quite like JACKS REVENGE. What chance of young Oisin Murphy winning the big race two weeks running?
I don't know why I bother to post on this thread, other than to give everyone a chance to make some money laying off my selections. So here goes folks; these are the ones to avoid tomorrow. Newmarket 14.00 Must stay with Berkshire (even though I was born and bred in Buckinghamshire) 14.35 Can't oppose my mum, Dorothy B 15.10 My usual sentimental choice, Elusive Kate (I will never desert her) 15.50 Not a clue, so will side with Thair, Educate and Timeform's outsider, Code of Honour 16.25 Remember 17.00 Majestic Moon 17.35 Urban Dance Nap
Stick thought u would be all over Grandads horse tomorrow is a decent price too Bob where u been buddy we have missed u lol
Only one that catches my eye is 2.30 - Lastchancelucas - 8/1 Is majorly on form and will love the drop back in trip down to 6f and always does well at Chester
Hope your luck changes Ron as I've included a few of those in a ew lucky 31 New 3.50 educate - surely will pop up on one of these big handicaps after a few bad luck stories. I'm sure ROTO will do a proper right up on this one New 5.00 majestic moon - didn't quite see out the mile trip LTO, expecting better back at 7f New 5.35 urban dancer - impressive first 2 runs and I think he can improve further to take this MR 2.15 watered silk - stick's tip Hay 3.30 masamah - down in grade and can go close here
I've just done a £20 treble on the first 3 favs(Berkshire/ Vorda/ Sky Lantern) at NM. If it comes in i'll carry on betting, if it don't i shall give up for the weekend.
At last a decent Saturday NH card to get stuck into - studying time in the morning. Talking of National Hunt, interesting to see 2 prominent NH owners represented in the Cheveley Park at Newmarket tomorrow - Michael Buckley (Spirit Son, Finian's Rainbow etc etc) part owner of Come To Heel and also that Mr Geffen bloke (Kauto Stone, Cristal Bonus RIP) owner of Dorothy B. Re Duroble Man in the Juvenile Hurdle at Market Rasen, I would tread carefully. Not the first time these connections have been "bigging up" a horse before he has run but may I remind you of Franklino? The Henderson horse will know his business tomorrow and will take all the beating IMHO. A very decent juvenile hurdle for the end of September.
Lucky 31 for me tomorrow- 3.30 Haydock- Barracuda Boy- 12/1 Am not a big fan of this trainer/stable at all and usually look against them(no idea why but just do ) but ran his best race of the year lto at kempton and altho he is taking on the older horses his mark is unchanged and I like backing horses on form and looks a talented horse will be there/there abouts 3.10 Newmarket-Sky Lantern- 7/4 Have not and will not desert her, I dont really need to say much about her. 2.35 Newmarket- Kiyoshi- 5/2 Was unlucky to be dis-quailfied lto (altho was the right decision) but altho has some wayward tendancies to hang she has a whole load of ability and expected to win. 2.50 Market Rasen- Dovers Hill- 8/1 Not seen since April 2012 but NTD knows how to get his horses ready from a long break out. Ran extremley well for a long way in the Sandown Gold Cup on soft ground, but altho the ground tomorrow will be alot quicker that is a plus for a horse that hsnt run for quite a while and has ability when winning a 3m race at sandown so wouldnt be a suprise to see him win tomorrow 2.30 Chester Lastchancelucas - 8/1 Is majorly on form and will love the drop back in trip down to 6f and always does well at Chester
