New Zealand, by and large, do two things better than anyone else - play Rugby Union and Sail. But not today. I've just watched the best sailing race I've ever seen, and I've watched a few and been in a few. Watching those incredible AC72 catamarans sprint across the race course leaves one going... WOW..!

And the race series was exciting too. USA got docked 2 points for doing what USA yachtsmen have never been afraid to do - cheat. Believe me, they have history. New Zealand raced into and early lead of 4-0 before USA got anything on the board, Then they went into an 8-1 lead with one more race to win to seal it. As late as last Sunday they were a couple of minutes from winning the America's Cup when the race was abandoned for going over the 40 minute limit. Them's the rules. Then the comeback started. Earlier, USA had made a big decision. They replaced their race tactician with the tactician from their warm-up crew. Step forward Sir Ben Ainslie. I've been in two races with Ainslie. The last time he took 3 hours to get round the Isle of Wight. I took 10. His boat was faster than mine, that's my excuse. This time he was in the slower boat, because Team NZ had had a lot of competitive races in the Louis Vuitton Cup to eliminate challengers, to get them upto speed. A few races went by as NZ built their lead, but USA suddenly found the boat speed they were looking for. Ainslie had cracked it. So by today they were 8-8, and the race recording I've just watched is Team USA making it 9-8 to retain the Cup. And it was absolutely ****ing brilliant.

If they cover other yacht racing with the same expertise and camera positioning then yacht racing has suddenly become a TV sport. Plus it might get a few people to take up sailing, and that can only be good.

It's effective. He's no worse than Allardyce and I know whose team I'd rather watch.

Oh it's effective alight , this style of play got Rickie Lambs his first red card ever .

I mean he has a spiteful / dirty / fouling side to him as manager , and he attempts to instill this into type of play into his squad. IMHO Sam is not like that .

True. Sam Allardyce's teams produce an apathy in the opposition fans. Look how many on here actually weren't that fussed about the game. That's the affect Sam Allardyce has on a team. They play 1970's football of the most boring kind. At least Brighton play a mixture. I have nothing against Allardyce or Poyet, but I know which one I'd rather have managing my team if it came down to a choice between the two.
