"Home to Hull in the next round. I think that means we play Hull at the Lane twice in 4 days." Two morale scenarios there. Hull get easily beat and then have to get back up to face the PL strength Spurs. Hull get a result which fires them up for the PL game.
Because we are not scoring so freely in the PL I hope we go ahead. I think we'll edge this one but as usual I'd like daylight ie 2-0.
Not necessarily. I will concede our kids lucked out in the end of regulation time but that's life. You win some and you lose some.
Yes, fair enough. Just think WBA at 3-1 up on pens with a bunch of kids to take the remainder for Arsenal should have won. Credit to the kids.
I thought it was interesting Arsenal played their regular defenders and youth team midfielders and strikers, more or less. Not a bad idea on the face of it, and it worked. I have predictably mixed feelings. I'd rather they lose, but I'd also rather they play more games, and am looking forward to the next round Chelsea matchup. West Brom not only missed the last two pens, they missed the net both times. This is known by some as choking. It's also annoying when the team you're pulling for does it. I can safely say I could put a shot on the net, at least. I'd bang it right down the middle and hope the keeper moves (having no aim, presumably.) I knew when that fourth player trotted up he was going to miss. He had this I'm-relaxed-as-could-be jog trot which indicated just the opposite. Well, my perfect record of always pulling for the loser in shoot outs continues.
Ozil had one of those Ask The Player things on the Arsenal website and it went predictably badly, with trolls doing their usual. One that stood out for me though was the official Paddy Power site, which asked him, "Have you been mis-sold ppi?" The clothing company Millets had to apologise after asking him, "does our 20 per cent off all clothing offer not make your eyes bulge with disbelief?"
He has a groin strain. I don't think he'll be risked. I'd like to see Hernandez and/or Kagawa given some more games.
