Morning all!! Have a bit of time on my hands today and as it hadn't been posted up yet I thought I would start the daily thread and try to maintain it as best I can. It can be said that there have been better days racing but nonetheless I have decided to throw a few darts and place a small Canadian bet and I will be backing them in singles... 2:00 Ling - Ice Slice 9/2 2nd 3:30 Ling - Mr Fitzroy 11/2 4:00 Ling - Laura Secord 10/1 4:10 Bev - Majestic Missile 16/1 5:40 Carl - Salvatore Fury 11/2 Feel free to add your darts guys and girls, good luck!! blimey--going against you again stick--Life of a Luso-- with his stable in good form , he drops in grade to contest this--maybe i should throw yours , mine and fav in a t/cast ! In the 4 20 Chankillo has a chance to show that his last run was not a one off--with a very progressive stable, this front runner will give us a run for da money ! good luck all !!
Yesterdays faller at Hamilton, ok before I start yes I did back the 2nd horse however this question is not about the money lost. HOW on earth can you not get disqualified for Fannings manouevre that caused the fall? A 7 day ban but no penalty in the race that the offence occured in! Are the rules strict enough? Or is the interpretation open to such a miscarriage? Too me in a footballing nature it would be like walking upto the goalkeeper injuring him, no replacement allowed and you dont get banned till after the game! Just seems a tad bizarre!
Two I've followed recently clash today in the 4.20 Newton Abbot and both are ropey old buggers - the Tizzard's No Woman No Cry and Gary Moore's Lombok. A quid reverse forecast just in case
If I recall correctly the only thing to ever compare with a Dutching bet .... was backing a Tote Place .... oooo errrrr.....
Does anyone know if Tony Hamilton is a good jockey. Never heard of him. If so Doc Hay 15.40 Beverley looks a banker ew at best priced 11/2
Reebs - the name comes from Al Capone's crony Dutch Schultz. Apparently it was his favourite bet. It involves placing win bets on 2 horses in a race. If both horses are 4/1 and one wins then it pays 3/1 as you lose your unit stake on the one which didn't win. All about increasing your win chances.
Thanks - I do it a lot but didn't know I was "dutching" Re Doc Hay Ron: I can't see any reason why he would beat Borderlescott based on their respective runnings in the Beverley Bullet, and as a place bet Borderlescott's odds are better. Re T Hamilton (Tony?) 451 winners from over 5000 rides. Two winners last week from 38 rides. Fortunately for me (and others) one of those was Supplicant EDIT: Just took another look at Doc Hay, and it looks as if the money was down last time, foiled by bad luck in running. I'm doing the forecast! And a Dutch
Just a look through the card at Newton for me today... 2.20 - Neston Grace, 15/8... 2.50 - De Faoithesdream, 9/4... 3.20 - Angles Hill, 11/10... 3.50 - Western King, 7/2... 4.20 - Pindar, 6/1... 4.50 - Nothingbutthetruth, 15/8... 5.20 - Buckhorn Tom, 2/1... No bets but you could put my name towards Nothingbutthetruth in the 4.50... Good luck if you do have a play today...
