Moyes took Everton from relegation candidates to a side competing for a European place every year, on a budget of less than £10m net over his entire 11 year tenure.

The rest of his spend (aside from the Rooney windfall) was self generated i.e. buying cheap & selling high, he did that consistently over 11 years, whilst improving the overall quality of our squad / play & competing at the right end of the table.

If you think that's been surpassed by Martinez in 1 window, then you've got rocks in your head mate.

EDIT: his best signings in the window were loans, Deulofeu, Lukaku & Barry - the comparison to Moyes will be made over his purchases - McCarthy, Robles, Alacaraz & Kone.

<laugh> typical bitter stats, judging Moyes over his decade's net spend to ignore all the Rooney, Lescott, Rodwell etc. money he pissed up the wall <ok>

I mentioned the Rooney windfall & the profit on Lescott was generated by him you ****ing bulb

Apparently Di Mateo, AVB & Di Canio all got sacked after losing against West Brom.

United play them at the weekend.... wouldn't it be funny if it happened again <laugh>

<doh> the Lescott and Rodwell fees were the desperate acts of billionaires, Moyes is lucky they bought City just as Everton was about to file for bankruptcy otherwise he would be remembered as the guy who won nothing and ran them into the ground. And his football was **** too.

Even by your ****ish standards that post is a steaming pile of horse ****, not worthy of a vaguely sensible response

Enough of the insults.

Every time I see involvement from you on this board its an argument.

Its becoming very tiring for whatever reasons.

Just asking you to tone it down.

Debate is one thing, insults are another.

You are after all a guest on this board.

Its true though. Everton aren't going to benefit from these Martinez transfers in the long term. They're all old or loan signings as people have already pointed out.

It might bring them relative short term success but its a bit like what Mourinho did at Inter Milan IMO. Just concentrating on the next season instead of the next couple of seasons.

Is that an indication that Martinez is only using Everton as a stepping stone and hoping to land a bigger club job next year?

A guest? It's a multi club forum lad, so leave that out like

As for the insult to that poster, his posts are nothing more than either rep requests or inane ****e jibes, he's therefore a bulb IMO , sorry.

This is the Liverpool forum and thus it is geared towards our fans as are all the other boards to theirs.

If he is insulting you then we get deal with that.
