Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has opened up the debate on 'feeder' clubs after he admitted the Gunners would be interested in a formal link-up with Conference Premier club Barnet. (Source: Telegraph) Didn't we shift some cast-offs Barnet's way?
you're just as blind as your manager, in one post you've undermined a player your manager felt good enough to start the season with. Plus, and surely the most salient of points is.....you've already got 5 players like him, most of them shortarses. His versatlity and hard work has done nothing for 3 Brazil managers, you've bought an overpriced dud, you are the master exponents of this after all...Torres. Please don't reply to me unless there is a modicum of sense to what you type.
The Willian saga in a nutshell: Liverpool go for him, we go for him because stealing Liverpool's targets is a hobby of Levy, Chelsea go for him to stop us getting him. Result: Chelsea get a player who's of Liverpool quality
Jose is laughing now at Chelsea's critics, ffs they only beat lowly Fulham who opened up their defence in the first half and should have gone in front. Jol's been given the "Vote of Confidence." Goodbye Martin. If Fulham can open them up then anybody can.
Utterly unbelievable with Mata. Why is he being left out? How would anyone think that their team would be better by leaving out their far and away best player? It's the equivalent of Utd leaving RvP out.
That remains to be seen, but even if it is the case it's because a number of players have been brought in to improve the overall quality of the team/squad. Mata's place has been given to another player - and it's apparent that Chelsea have been nowhere near as potent going forward. Mata gave them goals and assists last season. Few others did. It isn't a logical decision to leave him out.
I am not an expert on Chelsea by any standards but it would not be surprising to exclude the best player if you are trying to change the way the team play. He being the 'best' player would tend to dominate play. So take him out change the team and then let him adapt and fight for a place, yes that makes perfect sense to me.
It's already quite apparent that Spurs are a stronger team. No remains to be seen about it. So Mourinho doesn't have a clue Luke? Is that what you are saying? This man who has been widely lauded and sought after by all the top teams. The man who has won leagues and cups whereever he has gone suddenly knows nothing about football because he has left out one player. Yeah right!
Mourinho made similar statements at Real, leaving out fan favourites and players that were widely regarded as superior to those he picked instead. Mata may simply have failed to do something that the manager wanted him to do, either in training or on the pitch, and he might be being used as an example to the squad. The press over here will undoubtedly allow him more room to work in than those in Spain did, however.
I've got to say, that I have seen nothing in CFC that we need to be afraid of. Indeed, I would fully expect us to take 4 points off them, this season. If we don't, it isn't because I've "jinxed" us, it'll be because we bottle it.
A lot of our rivals are very strong on paper. But until any of them of them actually start playing to that level, Spurs at the moment are a match for all of them.
Lawro says we are not yet the finished article but soon will be. I hope we don't trip up on the way because I agree with him. Losing to Arsenal made me hesitate a little. We should have scored more against Norwich and I'm hoping we can put things totally right today although it won't be easy.
Remember I started a thread entitled "I'm glad we lost to Arsenal"? That wasn't a sour-grapes knee-jerk reaction in the aftermath of the loss, but a genuine rationalisation of the situation. If we had beaten them, or even scraped the draw, I believe it would have instilled in some of the players the kind of silly over-expectations that so many (such as JD) have been prone to in past seasons. Since the Arsenal game, we have looked so much more balanced, and I'm sure that that defeat will have woken up a few players and given AVB all the ammunition he needed to kick the arses that needed kicking. I'll be looking towards us pushing on with a vengeance for the rest of this season.
