we do need to improve a lot in the attacking third unfortunately you are correct flyer that the atmosphere is poor because of the football on the pitch
Harry is obviously aware of our creative shortcomings and the need for another quality striker, we'll soon see how he addresses this and maybe then we'll start seeing the sort of football we've been missing...
there are no positives even if we go up, we will see at least 15 new arrivals in the summer due to us signing all the old players. Dunne Hill AJ Zamora Derry Taarabt Granero Cesar Jenas SWP Maybe Barton but not sure on contract. Young diakite Mbia Murphy ONeill plus the loan players go back. We will have to do exactly what we did wrong last time, buy a whole new team. That short term thinking is why I want the manager gone. The only positive is the result on paper. I enjoyed having a nap to wake up finding out we won 1-0 than actually going to games. Of course we could suddenly start to play better and win but we could also carry on playing crap and sliding down the table after getting the results we deserve. Plus theres more I know that I cant say on here.
I really noticed it last night and it is a 2 way thing, they start showing some positive runs and put pressure on the opposition and we the fans will get LR rocking. I think we are starting to play alot better than people give us credit for, we are keeping the ball which is something we could barely manage last season and people are still moaning, yes we have no forward options but that will be sorted in next few weeks.
Flyer I don't disagree withn you on that but that is exactly what virtually every side outside the top 7 or 8 in the Prem does every year......look at the amount of money Saints, Swans, Cardiff, Hull, Norwich etc have spent in the last 2 years.....it is the way the Prem has gone unfortunately. Admittedly we had a very unpleasant experience last season but TF and Harold have done a reasonable job of getting rid of the deadwood and have brought in players with the sole aim of getting promtion this season....I will be the first to admit that I was hugely underwhelmed by Harold last season and nothing during the summer changed my mind.....I thought he would be gone, but I have to give him some credit for putting together a side that should be good enough to get us out of this league.... At the moment the football is not the flowing style that we have grown up watching but in some ways that is due to the ways sides are set up against us especially at HQ, but I am hopeful that the style will return during the next month or so when players return from injury and get match fit and that until then we can continue to grind out wins to keep us in the promtion mix.....
Is everybody very stoned? Problem is the family stand behind the goal, as raised at the last meetings between fans & club, it's also the issue the club seem most coy about addressing. In a nutshell Phil Beard is a fukwit.
They spent large amounts but on 3 or 4 quality players, at least Swansea and Saints have done that. Ive said all along hes going to retire no matter what this summer and thats why theres zero forward planning and why hes been quite happy to get in all these old players because it wont be his problem to sort out the huge mess in the summer. As for deadwood, weve still got, Ephraim, Mbia, diakite and Cesar and only loaned out players despite us saying they would only be sold, weve still got all those players coming back unhappy in the summer to add to the mess. Hes known for leaving a devastating mess after he leaves, Saints and Pompey are prime examples of that.
As is the away fans behind the goal too, put them in x block and the family stand in the SAR corner at the opposite corner of the ground.
The away end makes more noise than our home end, it's my biggest grip other than the presence of Phil Beard. If the club don't care about the issue then maybe the fans staying quiet will get the message home. But I doubt it. The "behind the scenes" video from a matchday, Leeds I think, Showed what a classy business man Phil Beard is. spark out in first class. The media guys were even at him on camera !!! how much of this **** is Tony going to take? Mans a joke. Edit: Heard relegation cost Blackburn just 27million pounds, I wonder by how much PB's brainless & rudderless stewardship has cost us? Maybe stick on a Zero?
Fair one. That is clearly true. Are there lines of communication for matters like this? My original point was also about how to get more of the ground going. I was in B block last night, my dads stand of choice. From there you hear a good volume from the away fans, but the Q, P and R block's sound doesn't reach. Maybe it seems an unimportant issue in the scheme of things, but I reckon a full on atmosphere would be the catalyst for a very worthwhile additional few points come the end of the season. I'm going to email the club about it.
The players have to do something to get the ground outside Q P and R block going. The players havent done much this season to get anyone going. It really doesnt matter if the fans sing from start to finish if Redknapp sends them out there with a defensive 451 with no AM.
We cheer and sing after a goal but there aren't many. We get behind the team when we go behind - but we don't any more As we move forward over the half way line we start making a noise.Especially when we break quickly Then we check and play the ball backwards, 3 across the middle then one back again to a defender and we all sigh. Well I'm the S Block I'm the W Block I'm the P Block Shepherds Bush That man alone can silence me
As stated really there was a fans meeting (The one with Harry,Clint & Jamie Mackie)at which it got raised clint even agreed with the fans I think, The forums had meetings at which it got raised again. Phil said it was a difficult situation, so its just being ignored by all as a collective failure. By Phil Beards standards a total success and one over on the fans. The Club know how we feel, but were not making enough noise on the issue to make the difference yet. 45 mins of constant swearing at Phil Beard every home game may get one issue sorted. The club would makes a statement on next season or they would sack Beard. Sad that they don't really listen. I fully expect a defence comprised of, they listened about the costs of season tickets didn't they? no we got relegated playing ****e. They bribed the season ticket holders back after 2 yrs of dross. They really don't listen. They have made some positive changes to balance this post, customer services & media (surprise surprise) departments have improved. but...........
Fair points about the setup Flyer, Harry doesn't react to what the fans want as a rule untill about the 84th minute. Give him his due though he is awake while doing his job, which is more than can be said of the Chief Exec while his media team are working 10 feet away. Theres a lad at fulham warming the bench that may suit us?
Have to say that even on the coverage LR sounds a bit quiet ATM Think that we are top of the league right now and because of the past 2 seasons when all our players came up woefully short, everyone is just waiting for the bubble to burst!
Bottom line is that the two things are separate. The players need to do their bit - get stuck in to getting games won. However, if the team are looking to start to turn in results that keep them towards the top of the table, the fans have to make Loftus Road an intimidating cauldron of support, with a view to making it as difficult for away teams as possible. Now...for my sins, I'll hold my hands up - I'm a Palace fan although QPR has been all round me since I was little. Palace have been no more successful, yet Selhurst Park rocks with fans support (whether in the Prem or Championship and it has been more the latter over the years). One of the things that I have noticed over the last few seasons' visits to is that noise generally emanates from one corner of Loftus Road in general. If everybody is spending big money to attend a football match, an atmosphere of a traditional football match should follow...benefits of common support, togetherness, camaraderie, call it what you will. I fear that the traditional view of a fan is changing in line with the game in general...corporate, expensive, simply business...what was it Roy Keane said all them years ago about the prawn sandwich eating brigade? I hope that teams like Rangers, Palace etc. don't go down a similar corporate route. Very sad for football going forward.
