An interesting read. I think Cooper is doing well, following in the footsteps of Ardley. MM also seems to have more faith in the young guns than DJ did.

MM has put an emphasis on creating a conveyorbelt of talent (which will be harder at PL level than Championship) going as far as recruiting youngstrers such as Coulson and Healy to fill possible gaps in what has come through from the younger age groups.

Slight asside, but I saw that Ralls scored for Yeovil against the Wendies on the weekend.

I continue to hear good things about the Dev. Squad as well. Interesting that neither Kiss nor Velikonja played on Monday. While Conway has a new club on loan will anyone come in for these 2 and/or Lappin.

Nugent didn't feature again for Brentford at the weekend. Looks like cup games are his limit at present. The lad needs to play so if they don't use him should Malky find him another club where he can play regularly.

Pointless sending players out on loan if they aren't going to get game time. Might as well stay at home, train with the 1st team and play for the Dev team.

Don't see any of the 3 getting in the squad. Kiss would be the nearest. Eti looks to have been the one mistake that MM has made in the market. Lappin not good enough but cost nothing and was a squad filler. Eti won't get ahead of any of the strikers we've got except maybe Rudy, though he gives us something different.

There's a good spread of ages through the squad now and while MM may want to buy more players, you can see potential to fill older shoes with youngsters coming through. If this is Bellamy's last season and it probably should be Smith's, you've the likes of Noone coming through and Harris behind that. Theo looks to be the new first choice right back with Bayford cover but Coulson getting good reviews with John looking to be the LB cover.

There is no guarantee that any of the youngsters will 'make it' but the potential and opportunity is there.

It would be nice to see the next Matthews, Gunter or Ramsey comeing through and for us to not only give them the chance, but not have to sell them.

With the ground expanssions, debt restructuring (and possible removal) and youth infrastructure, the whole fabric of the club is being overhauled.

Long may it continue.

Liked Coulson for a while now - he's got something about him that marks him out as a great prospect. Kadeem is fast becoming a star turn at that level and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a shot on the bench for the first team a bit later on. Healy looks to have an eye for goal very much like Joe Mason.

All in all, a very promising bunch of lads - and on a slight aside, I watched Lappin playing with them as one of the 3 "over age" players allowed and thought he looked very composed at the back.

It was a very nicely taken goal from Ralls.

I'd like to see Harris start at West Ham, it'll probably be our last LC game this season and his development form has earned him a decent chance imo.

Stick him and Noone of the wings and have a proper go at them, they've got injury problems so Fat Sam may not want to risk the ones who are fit. The flip side is he may have to play a strongish side as it's all he's got!
