Bony, dont think he is good enough. He could score 25 in a season for team who does know how to cross or get the ball into box more often. We are a midfield team and need players like Michu or Pozuelo to make things happen. Its time, I ll put my head on the block, Bony will be wasted at Swansea. The only thing I expect of him is to actually be good in the euro cup From what I have seen, Michu knows how to hold a ball, Bony doesnt. We look much more dynamic without him, Laudrup made a mistake.
Its early days yet Dan. You may be right, but we've got a long old season and my gut feeling is that he will go on a scoring run once he gets up to pace and we get a few mid-table teams at the Liberty
So, after his best performance of the season so far, where it was obvious that after injury he's getting nicely up to pace in his partnership with Michu and the PL in general, now it's been decided that he's not good enough? Word of advice. If Daiswan thinks something, you're never going to regret thinking the exact opposite. Occasionally he may still be right, but only in the same way as a stopped clock.
Bony and Michu are starting to gel nicely it was evident in the Liverpool game some very nice fluid passing between them, one big problem is we can't cross into the box, last season I feel Tiendalli was by far the best crosser, with him delivering some balls into Bony I can see some goals coming our way. Keep the faith
Ive seen enough of Bony to see that he will get goals, not a massive amount because as you say we don't play to him enough,we must though remember how he is pulling defenders with him though, the second goal we scored was down to him moving out of th line and the defender tracking him, jonjo moved into the space and made the assist, bony was part of that move and did well. Its very early days,if it wasn't for an absolutely world class tackle on the line Bony would have scored last night,i think we should give the guy plenty of time to adjust to this level,he is getting better with each game and the limited chances he gets he normally works the keeper,he is also very good at keeping the ball for us and holding defenders off, im not sure what people are expecting from him to be honest,he is behind most people at the club in terms of match fitness and he is learning in a new team in a new country in a higher standard league,we should be supportive of him at this early stage, ive seen enough to think he will do a great job for us. I put him down for 12 goals in his first season,so far he has had 1 in 3 prem games
People tend to compare Bony with our players. He is nothing like them. Bony has never been a counterattack kind of player. He need time to get to the box but if our other players find him there. he will score his goals We tend to use 100 chances to score a goal. Bony is the kind of player. if we use him right, can score on his own (he is a proven striker, strong with both a nice shoot and is a super header). We could start by make decent crossings into the box to Bony (and Michu).
I'm sure people didn't like the idea of Scotland either, the rest as we say is history Give the lad a chance to settle in, even the most expensive player will take time to get used to playing with his new team mates, why would we expect Bony to get it right first time.
He still struggles (alot) to link up with our other players when we attack. But what I saw in the first couple of preseason matchs Bonys technic is good enough. People seem to see his lack of speed as he is out of shape. But that is wrong. Agree Tiendalli (of our backs) makes the best passes in the air. Davies is quite weak and Rangel even though I like him is average at it. We should use Guzman (especially) but also Routledge to make passes into the box. They both have an excellent technic. The passes do not even need to be hard, because Bony have enough power by himselves to give it speed. If you saw all Bonys 30-31 goals last season proberly 60-70 % was headers. Please hit him with a ball there.
I was thinking on similar lines earlier today. I didn't like thinking it, but none the less the jury is still out for me with regards Bony. Sorry Bony I haven't seen any improvement from his first appearance to yesterdays.
Well, I dont believe in him, but anyway, wanted to thank you folks for being nice and not crucifying me. Hugs.
Early days yet, powerfull player who is so different to what we have got. Seems a little sluggish, but is physical and does put himself about. I think he will get 12+ goals this season. If he does that he will be a success. It would be nice to see him get a couple in the next two games then relax and just play. Many did not like Scotland, I thought he was fantastic for us, I think Bony might split opinions too.
Bony was a beast out there against 'Pool. He is not the tallest compared to some center halfs but he wins his fair share in the air. He is incredibly difficult to knock of the ball. Had one powerful shot from outside the box on target, required Skrtel to make a do-or-die-risk-injury move to rob him of a goal from the keepers rebound, and had a number of other efforts saved by the keeper. He worked hard during that first half dropping back behind Michu in many cases to put in a shift in closing down midfield. What's to complain about - really! We need better quality on our crosses (nothing new there) and he will be finding the net.
Agree with that , he has the tools to do the job IMO, do we have the tools to provide him with goals ?
Can't agree at all with this post. Bony is a strong physical striker with a good finish. Making judgements after 4 league games is a bit of a knee jerk reaction. He has already scored 4 goals 3 in the europa league and 1 in the premiership. His partnership with Michu is improving match on match and I fully expect him to get at least 15 goals this season which will be a good return for the premiership. Time will tell but I'm more than confident that he will be a success at Swansea. People's expectations are raised significantly regarding Bony due to the size of his transfer fee, and some people are expecting miracles, we must remember this is the best league in the world with top top players he needs time to adjust to the pace and intensity of the premiership. If we were 12 to 15 games into the season then maybe, just maybe we would be more pessimistic about Bony's future and ability to play in this league, but its far too early to make a constructive argument on his ability to fulfil his role within the club.
