I think its absolutely disgusting how much match day tickets are. I wss going to go yesterday only to find thst the ticjets were £42, I have 2 young children, a mortgage, car etc and with one income i simply cannot afford to go to watch stoke anymore and find myself watching it in a pub where it costs me £10 for drinks and thats all. I have been priced out of watching my team and with how we are playing at the moment I feel I am missing out massively. There must be other fans that are in the same position as myself and I feel that the club needs to revise its ticket prices. Im not trying to put a downer on everything as we are doing really well at the moment but unless stoke do something then there will be more empty seats.

Yup, they'll charge the highest prices they can to make the most money. And Stoke aren't the worst for this, we still have some of the cheapest tickets in the division, and things like the free away buses are fantastic. Imagine how bad it would be if you supported Spurs (£750 for a "restricted view" season ticket? Come on!!)

to be honest though the hourly wage rate is much higher in London than in Stoke, so it isnt a big a difference as you think. Far far too much money in either case to watch a game of football, absolutely ridiculous to think that I pay £42 which is a lot of money to me to watch players earning £50,000 plus, ****ing joke. I love to go to watch Stoke but you have to draw the line somewhere.
 
It's only against the big teams. A ticket against Hull, Norwich etc is only £25 (I think).
I paid £40 to go yesterday, if I hadn't have been for the fact I virtually never get weekends off and haven't been to a match in ages, I wouldn't have spent that much. I didn't mind paying out for a season ticket (£450 last year, don't think they've gone up) but with working so many weekends there's no point in me having one anymore.

Pretty much the same for me. I purchased an early bird season ticket this year and so far i've not been a single game due to work commitments. I was going to go on the Sunday game against Norwich though but fear my missus may not be too happy as I'm down Wales working all that week :-/

I also got my ticket at the old price so I'm saving a bundle because, like you I gambled and renewed when TP left. It is way OTT just to watch a footie game when you compare to Germany. Recently watched a tv prog and to watch Bayern play another TOP side for a League game the price was... 15 Euro's. And that, is one of the dearest seats you can purchase. SKY and BIG wages are the problem, such is life and WHY I no longer pay to watch Sky Sports.

P.S. BEST of LUCK with your new venture Waddo. <ok> Seem's you are working all hours and enjoy the next Stoke game you do watch. What a difference one man can make eh! Magical at times on Saturday, it was almost the perfect day and performance.

YOU are not alone, I get help from my two daughters, like you I love Stoke with a passion and they chip in and help me pay for mine. Without their help I doubt I could afford a ST since I retired. I have the ST instead of B/day pressies etc. K T F and keep shouting at whichever tv you are watching. We're ALL Stokie's together Ric. For the record, I have 2 mates who are in same position as you with family/children and so on. IF there is a seat empty (and there is occasionally the guy next to me does not make it) I will PM you Ric. You can have his seat with pleasure. I'll keep you informed Ric.

cheers for that Potts, im not after a freebie mate and I dont mind paying but £42 is crazy, and it just really pisses me off with all the greed nowadays, I was honestly in shock when I phoned up Stoke on Friday, how can they expect people who cant have, or afford a season ticket to pay £42 to watch their team, something must change because I wont be going to watch at those prices and when its one of the "lesser" teams they drop the price, so if they can do it for one game they should be able to do it for ALL games. At the end of the day whichever way you look at it its GREED and nothing else!!. They got £70 million for staying up so God knows where all of that money has gone as we have only spent about £6 million on players.
