Anonymity was granted to rape defendants under the 1976 Sexual Offences Act, but was removed in 1988.

Why are the defendants named (This would possibly include this one) Its an easy one in my opinion to answer, some people would say that no matter how much stress and trauma innocent defendants may be put through, those accused of rape must be named to encourage other potential victims to speak out.

Anonymity for defendants in sex offence cases is potentially “unworkable”,with social media sites, often people are outed or are threatened with being identified by an anonymous to try and force the police to act.

I read some frightening stats avaliable confirm that around one in 20 women are raped or subjected to serious sex attacks by the time they are 60, But at least four in five rapes are not even reported to the police, and less than one in six of those which are lead to a conviction.(Source the Office for National Statistics DT).

    ..!

Banksy appreciate comments, just to reiterate, its not the board that offends me?

Your viewpoint seems somewhat bigoted to me,but you are entitled to your opinion, as indeed are the Rovers supporters who have also posted.

I would suggest that if anyone was not interested in a post or comment, why would they bother to post.
