It's a big game for both teams and -given the injuries facing Arsenal PDC will want us to move the ball about and create chances, both teams will be targeting a win.

Ozil is probably one of the best in the world, playing in front of some creative players, others, stepping in, will want to prove they're good enough for the 1st team -gonna be a good game methinks!

No prob mate just to close the prediction thread will be kicking off early today not sure being drunk in charge of a smartphone is a good combo.

If özil plays mate?

I bet he comes on in the 2nd half, let's hope we're 2-0 up by then, with their injury situation, I think we'll see him on the pitch.

Anybody going to take a guess at the line-up!

Westy

Cel Rob Dia Col

Jono Cab Ki Mav

Will Borini start? What about Cattermole and Cuellar? I think the remainder of the team picks itself.

Thing is with Ozil, he needs to learn the way his team mates move. He needs the same bedding in period any player does. However, such is his ability, any time on the ball and he'll still find a man with a killer pass. My plan? Man mark the ****a with Catts. No time on the ball and welcome to the physical nature of the premiership. Only problem is is Catts won't quite ready. If Ozil is on the bench, I'd bring Catts on as soon as he's introduced.

Could Santi Cazorla also be out of this afternoons game - with Per Mertesacker, Tomas Rosicky and possibly new signing Mesut Ozil.

If the news that Per Mertesacker was out and Mesut Ozil was doubtful through sickness was not bad enough for Arsenal fans then a rumour currently doing the rounds on Twitter will not cheer you guys up one bit.

There is quite a stir on the social network site this morning that suggests that Spanish international and star creator Santi Cazorla will not play today after picking up an injury.

Cazorla made his debut against The Mackems last season and instantly impressed with his technical ability and creative spark in the final third.

But it appears possible that he may not be showcasing that talent once again later today.

With Tomas Rosicky already out along with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain it would give Arsene Wenger a real selection headache - along with the sickness developed by Ozil on Friday.

The news appears to stem from a Tweet from Goal.com correspondent Wayne Veysey - stating that Cazorla picked up the injury in midweek:

Now this is not the first time we have been told Cazorla would miss an Arsenal game on Twitter, so approach with caution. The last time it happened he went on to play the full 90 minutes despite rumours of a death in the family.

The reaction on Twitter is mixed.

Some Arsenal fans seem to buy it, and are hoping even more than before that Mesut Ozil could be fit enough to start in the event of their main creator’s absence - others are adamant the news cannot be true.

They cite the fact Cazorla is in the provisional squad - and the decision to play several potential replacements, such as Serge Gnabry and Ryo Miyaichi in Thursday’s Under-21 tie against West Bromwich Albion.

But that game came before Ozil arrived at training on Friday feeling under the weather - so it could certainly be that Wenger was hoping on Cazorla being replaced by the £42.5 million man.

But there is no official news on this subject, and the fact remains that this rumour will prove false. Wenger mentioned nothing of a Cazorla in jury in his press conference, and he would have no real reason to tell a porky pie.

But Cazorla’s name will certainly be one to look out for when the teams are announced at around 14:00 this afternoon.
