I think Yoshida, Shaw, etc have simply been rested because of their international obligations. No point wearing them out at the start of the season.
Last year, their three strike options combined to score 10 goals in 67 league games. If they do end up signing Cole, it will be 12 in 94.
Ok so how are we feeling about this? Surely he can't come in and start sun? Good that they're clutching at straws? I know nothing about him.
Mladen is a great striker, he scored five goals for Fulham last season on a very limited game time. But since they released him he's probably been training on his own, so he shouldn't be fit to play against us.
I've read on one WH forum that Andy Carroll popped his achillies and will be out for at least 6 months after the club gave him an injection which the consultant treating him recommended against.
Achillies need proper treatment and rest, if they simply gave him an injection then they deserve what they get. Meanwhile do West Ham have 11 fit players? The way this is going we'll be playing their reserves.
Guessing we'll see something like: ---------Jussi--------- Demel-Collins-Reid-O'Brien ------Diame--Noble------- Collison----Nolan----Jarvis -------Maiga/Vaz Te--------- Quite frankly, that's a lineup that we need to beat if we have any aspirations of making the top half.
