Yes I know it's early but I really really want to win this one! . No time at all for Fat Sam and that nasty captain of his so a sound thrashing is in order!

I'm hoping every-one comes back fit from their various jaunts and we have a full squad to chose from. If so I'd go with

    Boruc

    Clyne Maya Lovren Shaw

    Victor Morgan

    Jrod Rickie Gaston

    Osvaldo

Subs KD Chambers Fonte Cork JWP Davis Adam

    COYR!

Boruc is said to have an injury...hopefully minor. Was Clyne's absence totally due to injury or do you think Chambers is now the man in possession. I'm not sure...we will find out on Sunday (except I won't, because I'll be on my way to Malaga). I hope JRod starts....I see him in the Wellbeck role (scoring from SRL passes).

How can you drop Adam for Gaston? Adam has been good in the last 2 games until 'hooked' off.

Take your point Imps but I just think Gaston and Osvaldo will play better together.

Mmmm, I think Adam adds more even when he isn't playing well. A spirit thing, like others feel better when one of the their closest friends is with them. Lambert certainly plays better with Adam although since Poch came in that seems to have dwindled away a bit.

I thought Adam was pretty ineffective against Sunderland IMO, worth trying something new

West Ham have a sound defence so we will need somethging a bit different imo. Bring on Gaston!

Would have J Rod in there for me, his pace and more physical presence would be a benefit.

    -----------Boruc------------
    Clyne - Maya - Lovren - Shaw
    ----Wanyama - Morgan-----
Osvaldo - Ramirez - Rodriguez (maybe lallana for Rodriguez?)
    ----------lambert-----------

This but Osvaldo is drifting in between striker and Winger, Ramirez playing in the hole.

I think I'd drop Rodriguez and have both Lallana and Ramirez in the starting 11 for this game. Rodriguez has worked hard and has been unlucky, but I think Lallana and Ramirez have done enough to show that they both merit a starting place, and I'd like to see them both play together. I also think Rodriguez's pace and directness would be especially effective coming off the bench against a tiring defence.

    ----------------------Boruc/Davis------------------
    Clyne-------Fonte-----------lovren--------Shaw--
    ---------Spider------------Wanyama-------------
    J-Rod-----------Osvaldo--------------Lallana----
    ---------------Lambert---------------------------

Bench- Gazza/Kelv, Hoiveld, Chambers, Cork, Gaston, JWP, Guly

Hard choice but I still want to try Osvaldo and Lambert together. Lallana has been very good this season, cannot drop. Difficult to justify dropping Prowsie but feel J-Rod's speed will be important. Lambert cannot be dropped, if he has a poor game tomorrow he will need a bit of a boost. If he plays well and scores again he will need to start. Want gaston to play more but Spam isn't his kind of game.

I would be delighted with both teams posted. Play our best team now and we will pick up more points now and we can only get better.

Harsh on lallana as he has been good but gaston proved with a goal that he can take it up to west ham so i would back him in. Really Looking forward to this game already

You say that, and I can understand why, but it was one of his better games last season!

I just think he would be more effective coming off the bench and we don't want to overwork Rickie this early in the season.

Fair point after two internationals but if he scores again tomorrow will take a brave man to leave him out!

I was trying to pretend I hadn't seen it! In all seriousness I can see there is a case for putting Rickie on the bench but I think we should start with our best team and that includes the great man.

Of the front 4 only osvaldo is being played in his preferred position. Lallana and gaston are actually capable of playing cam whereas jwp isnt. Lambert might be a good option off the bench for the same reasons he would be an even better option to start.
