west brom have issued a statement deflecting it away from them and making us question .. any media savvy club would do the same when you look at how we act
According to the Birmingham Mail, the offer was originally £6.5m. If that's true, then that statement is a lie. Brucey wouldn't have spent that much on him.
They may have tens of millions but it's tied up in assets which Allam can't just use out of the blue.
It may be that there was a dispute about how the payments were spread. I would expect some clarification from Hull City if they dispute the WBA statement.
Yeah i would expect that City wanted to stretch a large chunk of the payment over a few years but West Brom expected more up front and called it off. The Lukaku deal will also have affected things no matter what they say.
On Monday evening I was so sick of watching the Sky transfer window programme, I listened to 5 live instead. The BBC during the evening said that WBA had told them that the Shane Long deal was now subject to then getting in replacements for both Shane Long and Odemwingie. In my view they did that with the signing of Sessegnon & Anichibe, though some say Sessegnon is not a striker, which I think comes down to personal opinion. From what was reported during the evening, Lukaku was going to Everton and WBA was trying to high jack that deal. For me therefore Lukaku was a long shot, and I don't think they ever thought they would get him, but they gave it a go. Now they are saying that they never said that and it was due to us changing the offer. Well I think I know who I believe and it isn't WBA, who are contradicting what they told the BBC.
Hull Tigers wont be punished as technically they have done nothing wrong. They have acted in a bad manner IF what West Brom have said is true. All they have probably done has made is difficult to do any transfer dealing with West Brom again in the future

They didnt tap him up as West Brom gave them permission to talk to him after they had a bid accepted. Once Hull tried to move the goalposts West Brom pulled the plug Its not the first time or last time a team has done it. Hull probably thought they was in a stronger position then what they were in thinking West Brom needed the money to buy Sessegnon and Anichebe with Lukaku possibly coming in aswell. West Brom showed them they was within no means under any pressure to sell
had to laugh , yes we tapped him up to fly from Ireland to sort out personal terms which were done easily and ready to sign ... oh you mean like QPR tapping up odemwingie in January ? ... WBA have form , it wasn't so obvious back then as they blamed the agent , but this is two windows in a row now .. something is not right at WBA
