I know nowt about championship footy, but this lad was mentioned a few times, but seems he's of to one of the new boys, is it a case that bruce is looking at bigger and better things, or is he really not that good.. Swansea City are set to break their transfer record after the Premier League newcomers agreed a £3.5m fee with Watford for striker Danny Graham. Championship club Watford have confirmed the Swans have been given permission to speak to the 25-year-old. The Hornets have already rejected a £2.5m offer from Queens Park Rangers for Graham, who was top scorer in the Championship last season with 24 goals. Swansea's previous record was the £1m paid to Chelsea for Scott Sinclair.
In the Championship, for Watford, he posed the only real threat for most of the season in the Hornets side. Really was a cut above the others. Likes to get in behind defenders and can get on the end of a deep cross if delivered well. Problem is for a number of 'seasoned' PL teams is - is he good enough for the PL? No one knows and I would suggest are a bit scared to take the gamble. Whereas the likes of Swansea, QPR & Norwich can not afford to be scared, they just need get players in to give them a fighting chance of survival.
The rumours down here is that the deal is done....good player though. It's a tough one as there have been a number of fantastic championship players who just can't make the grade in the Premiership. Earnshaw and Chopra spring to mind...
