That question has already been answered repeatedly. Cazorla will play on the left (which he has been doing in Podolski's absence anyway). He is quality comming in off the flank. And so no-one will need to be dropped.

haha Muppet. Your comment mocking Arsenal that you posted earlier just speaks volumes for you.

I vanished? Really? Where to then?

It's absolutely hilarious how Scousers of all people can doubt and question Arsenal. Focus on your own below par side who'll probably finish 7th again. What? You think you're gonna win the league now? <rofl>

Once again. These clowns have no clue. They don't watch any other teams outside their club yet they're this vocal about it.

Don't think once you have come on here and not generalized, not insulted, and use the same "clowns" and "idiots" in everything you post. Pushing it....

I'd go far as saying as a n.10 (such as they are these days), he is second to only iniesta (of course, this is a personal opinion, albeit backed up by quite a significant number of people, including, I believe, mourinho). As anyone that watched as on a consistent basis, and not just relying on the medias/general consensus, we really struggled to create opportunities last year, far too much burden was placed on cazorla. The games evolved away from a pure DM in the mould of the invisible wall, nowadays all player s must continue offensively, and with arteta coming back, Ramsey currently the best 'b2b' midfielder (on form atm), and wilshere being groomed (I believe) to stay back and be our terrier, özil could be just what we needed. Admittedly, I initially would have preferred DiMaria and cabaye, but one factor I did not take into account was the massive status jump this signing will give us, akin to the bergkamp one, in that we will once again be seen as a genuine option for top players.
In terms of centre backs, we're short one, but I think we have the best 3 options (although you lot come close) in Kozzer, the BFG and the verminator, sagna can more than do a job there for now, while flamini (who was suprisingly good against the spuds), can cover us in the wings, as well as adding bite.
Cazorla made his name out on the left for Malaga, and Wenger has always played a drifty type on one wing (think gervinho, arshavin, pires, Reyes etc.) With a more conventional winger on the other, which is what well see now.
Oh, and we did sign a keeper, once hyped to take over Buffon, although injuries put paid to that a bit, did sort of get brushed over by özil though ;)

You're on here branding us all muppets and clowns but shouldn't you...
Focus on your own below par side. What you signed Ozil? You think you're gonna win the league now?

Edit: Oh I forgot to throw in a few of your rolls for good measure. <rofl> <rofl> <rofl>

  8. Okay, simple question for the Arsenal fans...

Would you consider the summer transfer window a successful one for Arsenal?

  9. Very true, I've already issued a warning (#734) too

I think it's been fairly successful. We have cleared out all of the deadwood (which we have been calling for the club to do for ages). We have kept hold of all our players for the first time in years. We have added the only World Class player to join the league this window. We have added squad depth at GK, RB/DM, AM and brought in a youth guy who may or may not make it.

Other than bringing in a striker and possibly a back-up utility defender, i think we have improved in the areas we needed to.

And i think we have a match-day squad that now rivals any team in the league. If we can se ourselves through to January ok and then make the last couple of additions we need i can see us having a very good season.

So on a scale starting at failure and ending in success i'd say it has tilted towards successful.

  12. Fair enough, its an opinions game afterall.

I agree about Ozil being world class (a term I rarely use because it is thrown about too often) but I don't think you guys have had a successful window.

If you keep everyone fit (massive ask with players such as Vermaelen, Gibbs, Sagna, Diaby, Wilshire, Walcott, Rosicky, etc) then you will without doubt be up there as you have a very good first eleven but you have a lot of injury prone players and lack depth.

Just my opinion of course <ok>

astroturfnaught the resident Liverpool board arsehole, negative repped me for this comment. Literally anytime i come over to your board i have a good conversation with a handful of your posters and then this dick comes along and ruins the good vibe around your board.

No, I think we've still got too many gaps in the squad. I don't think anyone expected us to sign a player of Ozil's quality but we really could have used some more players in, even if they were just back ups

I've repped you for the sake of continuing this debate normally.

While I agree Ozil is the best player signed this season (Other than possibly Jovetic <whistle> though I'm very biased) this is so vital that I can't see how you can dismiss it to one sentence. You're relying on Sagna, Gibbs, Verm and Koscielny all season, or until January. If any of them get injured, who steps in? Jenkinson? I feel bad for him as he only gets a chance when Arsenal are in crisis - but he's not adequate. Monreal? Okay but still a weak spot. You're very light up front as well.

Ox and Pod are out for a while, Walcott hasn't replicated his form from parts of last season, and Giroud is inevitably going to dry up or get injured at some point. I honestly think you shouldn't be blinded by Ozil - Wenger needs to fix a lot more and he has used Ozil as a smokescreen, buying him some time.

There's no point. We've made the same observations over and over again since it looked like Ozil was going to be signed.

    Thanks :)

I agree there are a couple of spots we could have used reinforcements. Our starting 11 and match-day 18 both look very strong with our squad fully fit. But if we pick up a few injuries in the same position in defence or up top we will be in a difficult situation. I think if we can keep our current lot of players fit until christmas by which time all our injured players should be back i will feel much more confident going into the second half of the season as i think we will try to make signings in January.

I'm happy with the players we brought in though and do think they where all for positions we needed. And on top of that we finally got rid of all the deadwood!

    Oh afcftwlolrofllmao
What a clown you are, hiding and then as soon as you sign Ozil you run about every board claiming he's the best in his position in the world. Like a clear cut best player in the world will sign for 4th best in England<laugh>

Wenger finally after years makes one big signing and by god it's pathetic, you going on every board trumpeting it.
Arsenal now have 1 world class player.
