From what I heard there was a point at the end of last la Liga season when Cesc was serious about having major talks with Barca then the coach gets ill and Cesc was off for some tin pot Summer tournament, the new Barca coach was installed and Cesc was convinced to stay although possibly only delaying a review until end of this season. At one point we were in pole to re-sign him
I hope the club have moved on.I don't want us to buy players when they're past their prime just to please the crowd.
Some of the white lightning specials you see hanging out behind the reporters on deadline day always make me laugh. The one's in Stoke are always particularly beautiful..
Ok so basically us and spurs have gone for Ba and Chelsea have rejected both of us in favour of letting a non-rival unnamed EPL club (possibly Newcastle or West Ham) do a deal. However Ba has said he doesn't want to go anywhere if it's not to a CL club. Still possibilities of this happening or not happening.
If cesc has another frustrating season at Barca i think we might well see him in the red kit in the premiership next season. Unfortunately i don't think it will be in London...
I know it's not quite done yet, but the Ozil deal has got to be the deal of this window. He is absolute quality and a real intention of where we're heading. I know Wenger has left it late, but those who were slagging him of in this window need to take a step back and eat a massive piece of humble pie, it is a brilliant signing and has made the wait more than worth while. What makes it so much sweeter is that it's happened on the back of the spuds selling their best player, which has enabled us to buy one of the best creative midfield player in the world.
Maybe, I don't get much info from inside Arsenal from I did hear this and from decent sources, could be wrong of course....
I think you mis-heard. They have agreed terms with an un-named club, but Ba has said he won't leave unless its for a CL club. So we have no idea what will happen yet.
I'd settle for that, especially with Giroud finding a bit of form. Hopefully next summer we can get a striker sorted without all the messing around
Leaving it this late, and still not addressing other issues in the squad, will still earn Wenger and co some valid criticism. For the majority of this window, we have been a shambles, and getting Ozil does not change that fact.
