i thought of this thread after reading the story on another forum about a kid who played X Box for 4 days straight so i was just wondering what is the longest you have ever played on a video game for?

the longest i have played on is for a couple of hours when i am trying to get a lot of the game completed on say LMA manager i used to play that for hours with my mate.

I'm not sure that it is physiologically possible to play games for 4 days straight without sleep, I remember my firend staying up for three days and then passing oput (breakinbg his jaw and losing three teeth iun the process, much to our amusement.

I think 40 hours was my maximum, on two linked Amigas playing stuntcar racer with two friends. It was a ****ing epic session which ended when one of the Amigas gave up the ghost and died in a fizzle and puff of smoke.

I remember breaking my ankle. Was hold up in bed for the first couple of days so decide to time how quick I could complete the fist Halo campaign, start to finish. t was around 5 hours if I remember. Was sick of the console after it and glad for it to be over. Couldnt look near the xbox for a couple of days. Cant understand people who can play consoles multiple hours on end as a regular occurence

****.

I've sat through games of Civilisation for over 12 hours, played COD for even longer.

I miss being a student :(

Weeks probably, playing Elite on the C64, fueled by "Space dust" (Amphetamine and pro plus chasers).

I got so good I could see off a whole fleet of Thargoids in a Witchspace encounter.

When I was younger I'd probably played games for a long time, can't remember what's my longest but nowadays I pretty much only game for about 30 minute or for an hour on the weekdays.

Bloody Zionist

When I was in school and Uni my holidays would regularly consist of:

Wake (probably around 9am)
Breakfast
Game
Lunch
Game
Dinner
Game (til around 1am)
Bed
Repeat for as long as the holiday.

Probably averaged out 12-14 hours a day.

I also played Guild Wars for over 2000 hours, and other games (Diablo 2, now Diablo 3) a lot more than that.

Final fantasy 7 on the ps1. Don't know how long, it was days stopping to eat, drink, piss and ****.

Still one of my top few games ever. Got a second hand PSP last year and am still amazed that it is possible to play games like that on the go. Makes me feel old.

I dunno... 8 hours maybe playing Elite Dangerous? Something like that, it may have been less. And I've had the occasional long session of Fifa that's lasted a good few hours because of getting angry and keeping on losing games and refusing to quit until I win.

Elite was the game, we had BBC micro's at school and everyone had a copy, it waspretty much the first year that IT was a subject, and the teachers knew less than us, so basically as long as we had the computer on and it was doing something the teacher was happy.

those ****ing Thargoid ****s used to do me every time

It was 1100hrs before Noon that I started playing my PS 3 with cousins who were visiting from out of town, It was 0300hrs next day we switched the console off.

Tuff one, back in the days of the Original Xbox when I had plenty of time, I think the most would be around 16 hours straight.
