I can't not against such an invalid argument! This latest attempt deserves to be ignored, though.

I see Ward-Prowse as an AMC, and Davis simply as a MC.

My word is gospel, as you all know, so...there's your answer.

Both more than capable, and have done many a time for us and their countries, playing as a holding midfielder. JWP had done until Pochettino came in.

I know, but I think JWP is best where he's been playing for us this season. Not necessarily on the right, but in that 3. Davis can more or less play wherever.

    I'll leave it at this:

Ward-Prowse, in my opinion (not gospel and you don't have to agree) does not have the attributes, be it sparks of creativity a la Gaston, pace and trickery to beat an opposing player, or a cracking shot and general link-up play like Rooney, to play as one an attacking three.

Obviously Mauricio sees it differently, but as Jesus Perez states, Mauricio and his coaches don't set positions, they give their players somewhere to play from. Fluidity is the order of the day it seems, which makes our argument rather invalid, and suggests to me I've wasted about an hour of my life.

Ward-Prowse looked equally comfortable (if not more) partnering Wanyama.

Indeed, he has the perfect attributes to play as a ball-playing holding midfielder. Good passing range, work-rate, technique and consistency.

Well I'd say that's because Wanyama is a defensive tank.

1-6-3. Wanyama handles everything in our half.

Whilst I agree he doesn't necessarily have Gastón's creativity or Mayuka's pace, I'd certainly disagree with the last part of your statement.

If you look at the FA videos of JWP in training with the England U20s, you'll see he definitely has a "cracking shot" on him. His set-piece deliveries in the first two league games alone combined with his few efforts on target have shown his ability to possess an attacking threat that our other midfielders don't.
