Well after a few pints at the match and a bit crack about a truly remarkable game last night I come on here to find the usual slating of players who did not play like Messi or Ronaldo for the full 90 minutes. Threads slagging Ji off, threads saying PDC is in trouble bla bla bla, I dont mind criticism as that is what a footy forum is all about discussions, agreements, disagreements etc but can anyone give the lads some actual credit for last night? Yes I was sitting there at 78 minutes with my hands stuck to my face shaking my head and full of rage but When Altidore got the goal we were all behind the team 100% and it was great to see them prevail. There was many many positives last night that is exactly what we needed, - Altidore's first goal of many - Wickham's application and goals - Adam Johnson MOTM - Coming through a tricky cup tie - Playing time and experience for the young guys - A WIN!!! - A MASSIVE CONFIDENCE BOOST I dont care what people say about MK Dons but to expect a 4-0 win from the off is a joke and a total lack of respect, look at the other results/games last night with County nearly beating Liverpool and Fulham nearly getting knocked out from BURY, things like this happen! So what if we played poorly for the first 70 minutes, you then get all this crap about the win papering over the cracks, just **** off with all this bull**** as we know what we need to do and so does the club and PDC. Its obvious we need a good full season to be the new guys in and improve year on year but its obvious that when things were going wrong we have a few so called PDC supporters also sharpening the daggers ready to strike and to them I say **** off and support someone else. Anyway well played lads and this could be a big stepping stone in this NEW squad and managers development, the way some people go on as if we are Chelsea and expect to beat everyone playing outstanding every time, we are Sunderland and I wouldn't change a thing!
I agree 100% with you, this is why i couldnt post after the fulham game, 90 mins into the season, people booing, disgruntled moaning walking over the bridge, sounds of pdc out in the pub then threads ripping the team to bits. Does my sweed in! Its a marathon not a sprint ffs
Totally agree Danny, we have enough outside the club pelting sh1te at the lads and PDC in particular so why can't our own fans get behind the club now, we are in a siege mentality because the so called experts are waiting for us to fall flat on our arses. We must perform at Palace,(not a happy ground for us) so Sky don't get on our backs. KTF.
Its a time for unity amongst SAFC fans more than ever with the majority of the media waiting for PDC to fail, we ll guess what, that aint going to happen!
At long last somebody that is being realistic and talking sense. We are not Barcelona and never will be. What we are instead is a brand new team full of potential with a set of very passionate supporters. I too was upset that we were losing 2-0 but that was to a very well organised and disciplined side. If we are honest the best team went back to Milton Keynes empty handed. I'm a season ticket holder and take my 9 year old son to all the games and get fed up with the negativity around the place. I don't know if I am just plain unlucky but regardless of where I sit in the ground I always seem to be sitting around a gobsh*te who is on the backs of the players and management from the kick off. I fully understand these guys have paid their money so feel they have a right to shout and scream but what I would ask is that they channel their energy into the positives in our play. Lots of new players that need to bed in and feel loved, not be abused for misplacing a pass. As I explained to my son last night, if these gobsh*ites were that good they would either be playing or in the dugout next to PDC! Although the SAFC footballers we watch week in, week out are very well paid for doing a job we would all love to do they are just people, most of them young people, playing in one of the top leagues in the world, in a country where they weren't born or brought up in and they are as desperate as we are to succeed. How many of fans would be brave enough to have thousands of people watching them do their day job and criticising them for every mistake? Let's get behind them, give them some confidence and make some noise!
A bit of negativity is natural, especially when there are negatives to be taken. It's fine when they're laid out against the positives. But all out doom mongering is just Irritating. Take Ji, not checked the thread yet but I seemed to be the only one who pinpointed the positives from the lad last night, and there were plenty to take.
I'd give it a go mate. It would be brilliant especially if I was playing in the derby and introduced as nomoregeordies. The first time Sunderland Newcastle fans become unified in their dislike of someone.
a slip up is always on the cards in cup games ,it always is a potential disaster for any bigger team against lower league side, this was avoided and if you look at the other results ,close calls going on all round , four goals are four goals ,last quarter showing means the fitness must play a part in this win. we are through so lets get on and beat palace
Last night was brilliant! The first half flushed out all the losers who just can't wait to rubbish the club. The second half gave the decent supporters the chance to shove it back down their throats. The tossers will think twice next time won't they
it seems like the days of the whole sol rocking are gone to be honest. the atmosphere at our ground isnt what it once was. i understand be scepticical about it as we have had false dawns and years of underperforming but if you pay your money you might as well sign your heart out and get behind the lads. winge all the way home if needs be
it boils my piss when you see a whingeing bastard with his kid at the match. what kind of example is that for the next generation
