I'm still to be convinced the lad is up to it mate. I haven't seen any of the things others have where he is being this handfull holding up the ball. I have only ever seen a ponderous big lad with little promise of anything different. Even when he has played for the under 21s I have seen the same. Since he has been here three managers haven't thought he was up to the task, if they were seeing anything in training surely he would be a starter.. And before anyone dives in and says he is only young and should be given time! If he was good enough he would be on the pitch no matter what his age imho. I surely don't need to mention all the teenagers that have gotten starts even for the big teams that earned their places because they were good enough. Old scar head on MOTD once said you will win nothing with kids about SAF. If the kids are good enough you will.
Looking good. Would swap Ji and Wickham at half time, give them both 45, unless ji's on for a hattrick
He put through a couple of canny passes that should have been pounced on by our other two forwards the other day. As an out and out striker he still has a lot to prove to us mind.
I know, its great to see him name on the team sheet again. Itd be nice if he could get abit of game time tonight before the Palace match.
New guys at the club rate him highly He was very good for Ausburg at the back end of last season in a deeper role, which going by the Southampton game is where he'll operate for us. Not an out and out striker such as Altidore or Fletch I think once he gets into the swing of things he'll be very good this season. Just my opinion
Don't imagine he'll play a part at Palace like. Maybe 20 or so minutes tonight and then a couple games for the development squad before he plays in the prem again Never know though!
