Hello and welcome to the match day thread for Liverpool V Notts County

Date & Time: Tuesday, 27th August, Kick-off 17:45
Venue: Anfield
Broadcasting: Sky Sports 1
Links: Will be added one hour before kick-off.

Should be a good chance for BR to bring a few of the fringe players into the team, to try impress the boss. And force there way into his first team plans.

I expect to see almost a new first 11 for the game, and if anyone can guess the starting 11 that will be some achievement.

I don't want Jones in goal...

I think Lucas will play for the experience in front of a young back 4.

Can't see Sinclair getting a game, I reckon Sterling and Ibe on the wings. Hendo, Lucas and Allen in middle with Borini up front.


But It's a good time for the kids to shine, and I'm sure they will <ok>
 
Nice one mate. Hoping for a nice early goal to settle us down, and hopefully we'll kick on from there.. Would be nice to Aspas or Borini to score and get there accounts opened this season (insert pun here). <cheers>
 
I expect a mixed team for this. I can see Skrtel not being involved dueto transfer speculation.

I reckon Lucas will start ahead of Henderson but otherwise I expect that team.

Completely forgot about him when I was thinking of my team <doh>


I think Toure will be rested due to his age - but we do need someone with experience in the back 4.

Agger had an injury in pre season.That was my thinking.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Alberto.
 
Rodgers likes starting with the backup team and rolling on the big names if we're fooked, rather than starting the top players then resting after we're safe.

Henderson as captain and only playing because we lack options and need his energy and strength. If Skrtel doesn't play in this game, he's 100% on his way with a deal already in place subject to us finding a replacement. Still a very decent team though.
 
Just had a quick look at how Notts County have started their league campaign (League one)

Played four,won none,drawn one,lost three.Scored four,conceded eight.

Perfect opportunity for BR to give some squad players a run-out.

That would be my team, plenty of experience in Mignolet, Skrtel, Cissokho, Lucas & Allen but also a chance to blood some of the younger players.

BR showed that he won't play a team made from all young players last year.

I'd agree with this, no issue. have studge and coutinho on the bench if the front 3 are terrible and have gerrard there to come in for lucas. i'd really have zero issue with him do this in advance of utd.

I'd like him to have alternatives to rest sturridge completely of course. aspas in if he wishes and i duunoo henderson in for lucas... if the game is 3-0 do you interrupt recovery for some players like sturridge?

sounds like oldham...

they will raise thier game for the frist half hour. we must hammer them back into their league form with repetitive passing and possession and let borini fluff a few chances... (come on fabio score me a hat trick)
 
Looking forward to LA playing, hopefully he shows he can do the business against a physical side.
