No ............in fact, the opposite.

It means that we won't sign anyone for at least three weeks. Two weeks of 'we've got him' in the paper, Harry to spend the following week confirming that the player is heading our way only to be either gazumped at the end or with the best of British luck, no one wants the poor sod and were lumbered with him. After that, we get out the 'welcome mat' and sing his praises, crying we've just signed another champion!
Ahhhhhhhhhh, you wouldn't be dead for quids, would you?

What

Harry could just prepping for giving his usual press conference out of his car window on the final day of the window and saying ''nah I think we've finished our business for the day'' before signing 3 players like he did at Spurs

This will go on for ages. The 'emergency' loan period (from English, but including Prem, clubs only, Prem clubs can loan out but not in) doesn't close until November or something. Can loan players for up to 93 days (and then renew in the January window). And as many as you like. So those frozen out of Prem 25 man squads (I am convinced these don't exist in the Championship, I've actually scanned the rules and can find no mention) will be on the radar.

Loans are, in business terms, pretty attractive to us. Beard and TF seem to have turned off the tap for ridiculously generous contracts (hooray) and a side effect is genuinely Prem class players, from here or abroad, won't be signing permanent terms unless they are 100% committed to the project and willing to put off the big pay days until we are promoted. Good thing. Loans allow us to get the class without the long term committment, reducing the inevitable squad churn next Summer, when, like it or not, there will be another rebuild - if we go up obviously, and if we stay down and Harold goes, new man will want new faces.

I think the squad will look thin at the end of this window, but we will continue to bring in loans for a few weeks afterwards. And if we keep the current run of results going we will be a very attractive place to play for a few months.

Long flight Stan?

I reckon you are probably right about the loans, but hopefully we don't get back to the position we were in when Warnock took over when we were playing the maximum number of loanees that would were permitted to.

Baird would be a good signing. There is also another club making a bid for Gareth Bale...............nah surely couldn't be us..........
