    More musings from the Test...
Steve Smith is the Jim Furyk of Cricket, doesn't look pretty but he's effective..
England look listless in the field, Ashes in the bag, I sense the urge to make it "4-0" is no longer there, I think they just don't want to lose this one and that will do.

492 for 9 and the declaration arrives, the Aussies will be looking to make England follow on
to force the win.Still 23 overs left today, lights are on.

I don't like to say I told you so, but I did claim Woakes was crap before the squad was even announced <doh>

Can't believe they're playing a week team and giving the Aussies a sniff at winning a game. Should have gone for Tremlett ahead of Kerrigan and kept Bairstow in.

    Or Luke Wright :bandit:

Cook's gone for 25. Terrible series for him, a batsman of his class.

Run rate of just over 2 <doh>

You'd think they'd try put on a decent showing in the final test. Try and go and actually win the game rather than just give up and try bat out 2 days for a draw.

    P.s Woakes is **** :bandit:

Aussies tried t make a game of it by setting a target for England to chase. Think that's good, gives the crowd some proper entertainment rather than both sides just playing out a boring draw.

140 to win from 23 overs with 8 wickets left. Cook & root both gone.

Played a mini test match today boys (2 innings each play all day) and got the following (I don't play regularly, some of the other play for local clubs):

4 overs, 2 maidens, 7 runs and the key wicket which bowled them out.

Batted: 1st innings, batted for 2 hours when we were under pressure (30 odd for 3, only 7 wickets each) and got 47 off 68 balls.

2nd we needed 124 off 15 overs and I slogged at everything and was out for about 10.

    Well happy! Match was drawn.

Wish I played cricket as much as I have football, could have been reasonable.

Their second innings I bowled 3 overs and they scored 9.

    Pretty good economy.

  18. I played one season of cricket; I can't bowl and although I had plenty of power with a bat I rarely got runs <laugh> However, I was a pretty good wicket keeper (shame I never got a chance in a game) and I used to have a good throwing arm too (which meant I was always stuck on the boundary <doh>)
