Helamis 4/1 Lingfield 4:05 - Looks to have been given a fair chance eased in grade here, expect a bold showing.

Elsewhere it looks an appealing day at York and a potential mouth watering clash between Toronado and Al Kazeem where i will not be betting but just a watching brief.

It will be interesting to see Telescope perform and see if he can put his last run right and get a win for himself here today, I think he
will personally stating the obvious.

Quite fancy Above Standard 7/1 in the York opener and will have a small bet each way just to err on the safe side.

Goodluck to all for the day.

York
1.55 Zero Money 16/1
2.30 The Grey Gatsby 6/4 NAP
3.05 Nichols Canyon 12/1
3.40 Al Kazeem 6/4
4.55 Blurred Vision 12/1

Really looking forward to the Acomb, The Grey Gatsby is an absolute monster of a 2yo, and First Flight looks very smart, both were green as grass on debut and both will improve for the step up to 7f, its a tricky call as First Flight might have more zip of the two but I was just very taken by the imposing grey physically and I cant oppose him. Id be surprised if the others got anywhere near these two.

Tempted to phone up for a price him for the Guineas, could be dreaming but I think he is potentially that good. Whatever happens tomorrow, I think he has a big future.

Agree on the nap, ran like an absolute pig on debut and still beat some useful horses.

Mendacious Harpy goes today on AW at Lingfield, I will chance a few quid on her

Nothing Original from me at York. The Grey Gatsby, Telescope, Toronado

First Flight in the Acomb for me. Missed the break by about ten lengths on debut and still won easily by three lengths. The Grey Gatsby will have come on for his last run but he was so green on debut i still think he might be too green to do himself justice again here. Pretty confident selection of First Flight for me.

<cheers> Red.

Got a bottle of Marques de Riscal in the fridge at the moment...getting it to a nice 16/17 degrees before gulping it with a big block of Idiazabal...never be afraid to get your red from room to cellar/bodega temperature in the old cooler..blissful afternoon ahead watching the cricket and racing..

Watson bloody lucky there with the leg before.

Very jealous of you indeed!!!!!!!!!

The Gray Gatsby

Toronado

Trixie for me today and a large single on Toronado. Iv been on Al Kazeem each of his wins this year and theres no denying hes the current top older horse in the division, but i cant help but feel that form just isnt quite good enough. Hughes is adamant that Toronado will stay 1m2f and given how strongly he travels i wouldnt put this past him. Will no doubt be a similar run to LTO and try bring him as late as possible down the outside.

In the 1.55 im going with a small stakes ew bet on the other Easterby runner Ancient Cross 25/1

Well done the Bogart supporters. I had a last second flutter on Goldream but 2nd is no use with a win bet!

I remarkably managed to pick the winner of a 5 furlong sprint handicap...not that i bet on it mind. I now fully expect my two actual bets for today, First Flight and Al Kazeem, to go and lose <laugh>

Keep the faith!

That said, I'm opposing both, so I hope you are correct <laugh>

Poor race the Acomb...no superstars there but a hell of a boost for the Shifting Power form.

Always said you were a man of impeccable taste Dex - welcome back mate. Been anywhere nice?

Well done on Bogart lads, no mean feat picking the winner of that but obviously lopping his tackle off has done the trick.
