Barton is loved still in France as he really did play some great stuff. He is being very professional at the moment and has increased his chances of a return to France.... No brainer if i was him as he has Champions League football waiting and Marseille know they need him for that ... They are in a war of nerves with us over money ...I still think he will go in the last few days of the window ... he has put things half right at QPR IMO and is currently playing in the shop window.

We have seven points down to him and his influence

Expect a move IMO and a lot of worry on here afterwards because he has in three games won a lot of people over ... shame he didn't start that way when he first came

Parker was to replace Barton that much is clear ... so who next ... answers on a post card because Harold doesn't rate Derry who also is out of the way while the chess pieces fall into place ... if all fails then it's Derry or Jenas or he will have a lot of talking to do to Mbia

Who knows! Let's hope that it's not a last minute deal that deprives us of an effective player leaving no time to find a replacement.

Can't remember his name but I thought the Huddersfield player wearing number 10 - playing central midfield - was excellent for them. Good control and nice interchange of passes. Might be someone to look out for.

Faurlin can step up to the plate without doubt. Henry also there for this reason

Love to see Harry give Ale a full run... am a huge fan of his, he is R's family - entirely unconvinced about Henry... is he out of his depth?

I personally think he will be gone soon. He's done enough this term to convince other clubs that he's worth taking a risk on.

If he doesn't for whatever reason move on, I can see that these Barton threads will replace Taarabt as the new 'Marmite' man and become the subject of division and will result in strong and emotive responses among our board. Therefore I would like to give some of our posters a gentle reminder of the rules and guidelines agreed on our board. These can be accessed by clicking on my sig.

Already I've witnessed on here what would come under Part 1; 3a. Baiting: Selectively challenging a named user / poster into a direct response. Considered over-personal and a form of bullying.

Roller and I have not received any complaints about this thread. It's just as I said earlier, a gentle reminder.

Personally if someone dragged up a thread and called me to task about something that appeared over three months ago.. Two things....
    1. I can barely remember what I posted yesterday.
    2. I may have well changed my mind since then, and yes I do reserve the right to remain as 'fickle' as the next man. If you stand by your guns no matter what, then good luck to you. Just don't go ramming it down my throat. I'm only on here for the banter, entertainment and all things Rs. Not to be stood up in an on-line court.

Btw, Sku's analogy was a good one.

For the record... If Barton stays, I will support him as long as he behaves himself. I didn't want him back. I was hoping never to see him at HQ again. Not in the hoops anyway.

Valid enough point sku, just wondering what has made him switch from "no way I'm playing with QPR in C'ship".

Could it McClaren's influence? Partly anyway.

Seems a bit selective that to me about the comment to me but if you wanted to be a balanced mediator you should have also quoted the regulation for telling someone to ‘go **** yourself’

Also to pick you up on the three months later comment, thats a convenient way of over-emphsing things. You could have said its only three league games later and I therefore believe my original assertion that some dramatic revisionism needs to take place stands up

I would like to publically apologise to the Saint. I was a bit hasty in my reaction to his post earlier and probably was a little personal with what I wrote - sorry.

On current form he'd be darn hard to replace but I can still see him going before the window closes, I do hope there is a back up plan though. Much as I love Ali I do think he needs a leader alongside him to get the best out of him and I can see Barton providing that support.
