Sadly my time running the comp must come to an end. I'm busy for the next few months on holiday and moving house. if someone continues it i may run it again when i have more time.

many thanks for running this Hawkeye.

numbers do appear to have dwindled somewhat this summer though.
maybe best to relaunch it in the autumn?

I have stated previously that I'd be prepared to step in when Hawk quit, but at the moment, especially with the better weather we are getting lately, I'm off in the motorhome for extended breaks most weekends. I'd also like to make a change or two, but can't commit to this until mid October.

We can therefore take a mid season break, or I have a suggestion for a temporary fix - make The League Comp a sticky until October, with competitors adding their selections for the up-coming Saturday. I will undertake to retrospectively score these on my return (usually a Monday, occasionally a Tuesday)

And yes - had a great weekend this week, thanks for asking, in Tamerlo's neck of the woods, met Tam for a bevvy or two and had a few more at the Arbury Hall Game and Country Fair. The highlight of which - for all the wrong reasons was the Falconry display, which over two days lost three hawks! In fact the trainer's vehicle was still parked in the forest with him searching for the last one as we made our way home at noon today <laugh> He proudly announced prior to their non-return that they were fitted with very expensive telemetry so that they could always find a missing bird. But they had nothing to stop the hawk catching and eating a fat pheasant, and given the choice of sitting in a tree stuffing his face, or flying back to a cage and leather hat, the birds made the logical choices :D

I love your wonderful insights into life's rich tapestry Reebs <applause>

Sitting in this bloody office every day makes me very jealous of you and your motorhome.

Definitely meet up for a bevvy at Cheltenham next March mate - or even Aintree on the Thursday before the National if you can plan that in?

Despite hailing from the county, when Liverpool where in Lancashire, I have never been to Aintree. And Chelts 2013 was my first festival. But I am looking forward to getting to next years, subject to finances - sitting in your office Oddy gets you money. Sitting in my motorhome gets me fatter and poorer :D
