A lot of comments on other forums saying we've overpaid, he's not that good etc. Just wondering if we have rose tinted glasses on over here because he's signed for us, or whether other clubs fans are just jealous?

Supporters of some other teams might be unhappy, but if Cortese wants to pay a large one off fee then I see no reason to be concerned, that is not going to risk the future of the club. We are fortunate to be able to do it, of course. From what I know, which is not much, it's a fair amount and great that he has decided to join. Awesome work from Nicola and the crew as usual.
 
Yeah thanks guys. I'm not worried about the price as I'm not the one that deals with the finances (good job too :cheesy:) and Cortese has proven time and time again that he knows what he's doing. Exciting times indeed. Would be nice to have him on the bench for Saturday.

The A. S. Rome S.p.A. announces that it has signed an agreement with the SOUTHAMPTON FOOTBALL CLUB for the outright sale of the rights to the player PabloDaniel Osvaldo, along with the recognition of an amount of 15.1 million euro.

The agreement also provides for the recognition of a variable fee, up to a maximum of 2 million euro, bonuses linked to the achievement by the Players Club and English certain athletic goals.

In all seriousness, I quite like the idea of doing something like that for him. He's clearly someone that needs to be loved, so showing that we've 'thought' about him would be a good start......
