I know he said good things about us but, even so, I felt that Stan C. knew what he was talking about. Maybe it's because he's a 'Stan'.........
Bruce is the 35th longest serving manager in the whole league (I know that's below MM). Would anyone bet against him being in the top 30 by the end of September? (Bear in mind Moyes replacing Ferguson at Man U took out 2 of the top 3, it's not just sackings that move you up the rankings)
Rick Skelton has made a preview on his blog: http://boothferrytowembley.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/premier-league-preview-201314.html
This is a 'scouting report' of us off a Chelsea site: http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2013/8/17/4626108/opposition-scouting-report-hull-city-tigers? It's pretty good and is accurate. Apart from the name of course...
Some of it is very good, but Livermore a 'useful squad player'? I don't think so. And the paragraph about playing a 3-man midfield just to accommodate Koren is bullshit. We'll play a 3-man midfield whatever and I'd be very surprised if Koren starts.
"With Sone Aluko returning from injury - he was one of Hull's brightest players before tragically missing the second half of the season with an Achilles injury - Bruce has a number of options at his disposal." I'm as big a fan of Aluko as anyone - but tragically? Talk about OTT...
In some ways the Aluko injury may have been mixed blessings.... If Aluko had not been injured and continued his fantastic form through the second part of the season, then we may have seen a massive bid for him from one of the bigger Premier League clubs which would have been hard to turn down.
Is Redknapp doing the game tomorrow - if so would love us to get a victory just to wipe the smug expression off his face.
Not even for him. Missing half a football season is not a tragedy. It's a very strong word that should be kept for occasions when it's properly warranted.
Take out hindsight. A professional had an accident that could have ended his career. Remember that was a possibility, we weren't prepared to discuss a new contract with him until we were sure he'd recovered.
