Raikkonen would be an improvement over Massa, and in my opinion he's the best driver available. I really wouldn't mind seeing him back at Ferrari. I'm not sure Luca would take him back though.

Anyway there's more:

On the 29th July, just after the Hungarian GP TJ13 reported “there will be a driver announcement in Monza that will resonate throughout F1 with the equivalent force as would an earth tremor which registers as a 9.0 on the Richter scale“.

TJ remarked it is highly unlikely that such a driver announcement will be kept quiet until Spa and even more unlikely until Monza. Clear signs of seismic activity has been increasing it appears a decision has been taken…

The Iceman cometh again! Sources at Ferrari close to TJ13 has indicated a deal is done. Kimi Raikkonen has signed a 3 year contract with Ferrari and will return to the scarlet cars in 2014. It seems Raikkonen used the Red Bull conversations to barter a better deal with Ferrari.

Ferrari has yet to announce who Raikkonen will replace and although it is anticipated that Massa will be shown the door, they could hold off the announcement to keep Alonso on a leash and incentivise Massa.

Can understand Kimi rejoining Ferrari as it's arguably the most prestigious team on the grid but don't see why he would give up a Lotus car that is quicker.

I really don't see Kimi going to Ferrari they have already done him over once before. If they do offer him a contract I hope Kimi gives them two fingers and tells Luca and co to jog on. Unless they offer him more than Alonso then he might say yes!

I can see Kimi reurning seriously. Before he fell out of love with the sport and didn't give it his 100% and left. Now he is back and he loves F1 more than ever... So maybe he has some unfinished business?

I was about to say how silly it would be for Kimi to go back to Ferrari, then I remember saying the same thing about Hamilton joining Mercedes and he seems to be doing all right!

Perhaps Ferrari have unveiled their plans for the new engines/car changes in 2014 and Kimi was impressed enough to rejoin? Or maybe it's all just a cunning plan to get more money and his own ice cream man at Red Bull! Either way, I sincerely hope that the Hulk gets a shot at somewhere better than Sauber be it replacing Kimi at Lotus or Massa at Ferrari.

If Lotus can't afford him.. his choices are slim unfortunately. It would be nice if Lotus got a chunk of cash to keep him, but if not... I'd rather see how he fairs at RBR.

Btw... has anybody mentioned the holocaust yet?

To choose between Lotus and Ferrari for next year is a no brainer:

  • Ferrari are a works team, Lotus are not
  • Ferrari have a bigger budget
  • Lotus are financially ****ed
  • The man responsible for Kimi's Lotus now works for Ferrari
  • Rory Byrne

It's a lot harder to choose between Red Bull and Ferrari though.

Good point about Allison moving from Lotus to Ferrari, didn't think about that!

By the way, here's a funny picture of Kimi that I just found (because I can)...
