I don't prefer it on either - mainly because the logo looks so damn uninspired you'd think that Vistaprint was responsible.
AIA aren't just any old Asian insurance company, they're the biggest in Hong Kong...I'd say that makes them worth a few bob, plus opens the Far East market. A bit more money for the apparently unjustifiable spending spree.
They're huge: insurance firm with Total assets US$ 134,439 million. Operating income of 3,019 million p.a. Listed on the hk stock exchange in 2010 at $21bn. 3rd largest IPO ever. Hopefully we've taken them for a good chunk.
I'd normally crack a joke, take the mick and say that sponsor looks awful, but we have bloody Cash Converters...
I'd rather ours had cash converters on it, than some red sponsor reminding us of that lot from down the road! Plus the fact it doesn't actually go with our kit. Who in their right mind would buy those kits?!
But Chelsea don't play in Red and Man U are not neighbours. Not sure I trust and Asian company that can't spell ASIA
Was this done while we were pissing about in Hong Kong on that ****ty pitch? Figured there was some reason that we were out there. Couldn't Levy have just gone on his own?
Its all part of cost cutting, they needed a plane out there for the deal so might as well play preseason too. In other costcutting measures the deal was brokered by Bale who is doubling up as our finance director hence he is too busy to play til the window shuts
I was wondering why we suddenly loosened up the purse strings. He's done very well so far. But he really needs to sit down at the table with himself and work out a deal.
I'm not entirely convinced that we're not selling Bale, but other reasons could include increased PL money, two new sponsors and the completion of our £45m training facility. A mate of mine has a nephew in our youth system and he's visited it repeatedly. He's a Liverpool fan but he was extremely impressed. Pretty pissed off at bumping into Soldado there, though!
Do you reckon that is a reason why we're having more luck in the transfer window? The players are visiting for talks, as they probably have before, but now we are showing them round the new training thinger and they're thinking "i could do with some of this on a daily basis" and they're signing up. Sod CL, we've got TG!
It can't hurt, but I think that we've got a variety of reasons to sign for us right now. Players rate our manager, the training ground, the plans for a new stadium which shows ambition, a good squad with what seems to be a really positive atmosphere and our new weapon in the market - Baldini. Our Belgians probably helped to sell the club to Chadli and our Brazilians probably did the same to Paulinho, especially Sandro. Bringing in our new number 8 early on was a pretty big statement, too. His impressive Confederations Cup performances will have caught some eyes.
It was funny listening to the pundits and rival fans saying how they didn't think he was that great when watching the Confed Cup, much to my surprise, and then he goes and gets awarded the 3rd best player I'm sure if he'd been linked with United or Chelsea they'd have "noticed" he was playing very well.
He was superb, YV. I was pretty concerned when Arsenal were linked with his midfield partner Luiz Gustavo, as I thought they neutralized a lot of the threat of every opposing team. Luckily he's buggered off to a bottom half Bundesliga side!
