That doesn't make sense. I could understand if you were trying to justify them not posting but you are trying to justify them posting!
I told you, I can't name names, however as at least one of the users to have been contacted is someone I know off the forum as well I know that when they were contacted about it they genuinely were contacted.
What I mean by they pay more attention to some posters than others is that they know from experience that the views of certain users are more likely to reflect the views of large numbers of fans where as other fans are more marginal. For example if it were a matter concerning Adam Pearson they'd probably choose to ignore Percy's views on him as he's a vocal minority rather than someone who is likely to represent the silent (non-posting) majority.
Why do they need to change the name to call us something different? Why cant they just leave the official name the same and then use the nickname or whatever nickname they want to give us more prominently? If they think it helps in international markets to call us The Tigers why not just do that. Trademark Hull Tigers etc. I dont really understand the point of changing the name to that unless there is some legal reason that they cant.
Don't you stay in your seat to watch the cheerleaders and sumo wrestling?? Or is that not modern and exciting enough? What about public executions at half time?
Do they not bring beers to you in the stands? Thats what they do here, that way you dont need to miss any of the game. They walk around with coolers and you just pay at your seat. They bring food to you that way as well.
I can explain that. Hull City Council is the governing body for the unitary authority and city of Kingston upon Hull. If the club is called "Hull City" then there is a close link to "Hull City Council". Do you want the council to rename themselves "Hull Tigers Council" to sound more modern and exciting?
I'm sure someone has already said about marketing the nickname rather than ruining the club name.
I know you can't name names but you must be able to tell me who they are!
The problem you have, and you may not like it, but your claim that this is unanimously opposed is simply not true.
Similarly if someone were to claim that the majority of fans are FOR the change, then that would equally not be true.
I would suggest up to 25% of fans are venomously against the change, probably less than 5% of the fans are pro the change and the remaining 70% when push comes to shove care more about the team's success than they do the name change.
If you had 100% of fans venomously against this, then the Allams would be in trouble because this would be revolution.
However you don't.
If this were an election, you would probably win because of the low turnout. But it's not. So ultimately as Bruce suggested, this will ultimately die down.
You don't have to like what I'm saying, but you must realise what I'm saying about the general apathy is true.
Doubt anybody has said it to the Allams. He seems stuck on the Hull Tigers/ Hull City Tigers route.
If he was up for discussion i'm sure someone would come up with it.
I don't doubt you but it sounds like a flawed procedure. They must be very lazy if they can't make an effort over important issues. FLAG is different because they are trying to come up with solutions (so they know what to ignore?) rather than just seeing which way the wind blows.
What a sad indictment of our fanbase that would be if it were true.Happily it's not.

Why Tigers? Just because we've been called that for a long time shouldn't stop us being "forward thinking". I thought Elephants, Monkeys and Cows would have more success. Maybe they will try one of them next year? We could use all three names for different "markets"! I could put myself forward as a "brand consultant".
And you have to realise that your mates, or even the hardcore on here represent the "East Stand" fanbase.
The West Stand care more about their Bovril, the South Stand want less swearing in front of the kiddies please.
