Just a daft thread about getting old but staying young.

A few days ago I was walking through the park near my house and a group of lads were on the footy pitch kicking a ball about, aged around 15/16, the lads not the ball.

The ball came over to me so I ran, well shuffled, a little with it, I was one of them back to my youth and ready to spend some time kicking about with them.

I looked up ready to shout," Come on, get it off me if you can, lets be having ya".

Then I looked up and saw a group of lads, standing with that look on their faces that said,"Come on old man, give us our ball back".

Funny how everyone else sees a different body to the one you see in your minds eye.

Off to take my medication now.

Two weeks ago my Chelsea neighbor/supporter (loyaltotheshed on this site, although he never posts) decided at 45 that he still had some magic on the pitch. After a snapped achilles tendon and surgery, he's looking at the rest of the year in rehab. Driving me crazy as well, as always needing something all the time and the wife cooking for him.

So Syd, be glad the yunguns could see what you couldn't!
