Matt Dean on Blunderside just said that "sources" had reported that "good progress has been made in France by Brucie and Billy Liar".

They expect positive news in the next 48 hours.

One would hope we would have good news in the next couple days. Season starts in 5 days and there are only a few more weeks before the window closes.

it's possible that any new additions won't be in time for Chelsea unless they feature on the bench but still definitely need to strengthen, so hope Bruce comes back with good news from France.

Huddlestone now 4/9 with Sky Bet to sign for us. Maybe something in it?

Yes I am sure the Allams will be desperate to deflect the flak they are getting over the namechange as quickly as possible

It could cost them a few £millions to get the egg wiped off their faces....

    ....see what I did there?

Betting was suspended on Charlie Austin joining.

I believe we reached something similar with Gary Pooper too.

So it's Kuban Krasnodar that have been rivalling us for Raibu's signature. Their owner is pretty badass; check out what he did (he's also the Governor of the Krasnador region).

"On August 2, 2012 Tkachyov announced plans to deploy a paramilitary force of Cossacks in Krasnodar Krai beginning September, 2012 as vigilantes to discourage internal immigration by Muslim Russians. In a speech to police he stated, "“What you can’t do, the Cossacks can. We have no other way — we shall stamp it out, instill order; we shall demand paperwork and enforce migration policies.” Makes the BNP look like (more of) a bunch of pussies.

Sounds like Benfica are also interested. I'm not so sure we can compete with them, they're a European force and much, much bigger than us.

Rabiu has said he wants to play in England and with Sagbo already here that might swing the deal in our favour. Also there manager has said he will "cry" if her leaves Evian (specifically saying to Hull City) which suggests to me something is close.

I'm expecting more than one player to be announced in one go.

    Huddlestone/Livermore/Rincon/Rabiu all could apply here.

Did he actually say Hull City? The quote I read just said he'd cry if he leaves full stop. The big jesse.
