We now have 4 players in the Wales' squad: Ash Williams, Ben Davies, Neil Taylor, Jazz Richards. Bale has arrived. Collins and Ramsey have dropped out due to injury, being replaced by Jazz and Andrew Crofts. Question: what's our best back four. If Ben can play center back, we could do a lot worse than have our 4 play across the back with Joe Allen patrolling in front of them. At least we could keep possession of the ball.
I have to question the wisdom of this game just a few days before the premier league starts. Seems completely daft to me, most will withdraw o just not bother giving 100% for the shirt and that's wrong for both player and fan. We cant expect our welsh players to give 100% when the minds will be focused on playing a more important match a couple days later.
I just wished we had no one playing in this pointless game less than a week before the start of the season. I is ****ing ludicrous. How would you feel if we end up with 2 injuries prior to the start of the season.
Don't Manure have 8 players in the England team for their game against Scotland, so fingers crossed a couple of injuries there, plus with Rooney and da Silva out
We have had big debates in the past about the value of these fixtures and the duty of the player to represent the country versus the risk to the player and club of injury etc. For me, I would prefer not to play this fixture and give our squad a full week's practice and preparation for the United game and the stretch of games going to the next international "break".
pointless game that should not be played on the eve of the start of premiership season....not interested in it or how well we do....
It not just our Welsh representatives , Bony's away in the USA until Friday + Shelvey in the U 21's squad v Scotland so that 6 out of the potential starting 11 for Saturday .
What a stupid fixture. I can understand the England v Scotland game to a point as it is the 150th anniversary etc but even that could have been moved forwards. The international calendar is a nightmare and will be worse in the World Cup in Qatar if it does go ahead in winter. Why do they even have these games at all? The players have all been spending pre-season focusing on fitness and building relationships/gelling with their club mates and then they are suddenly whisked off for a game with different players and a different philosophy. I wish Wales well but all I hope for is a clean bill of health on the players return.
Why not play the game in july, It makes no sense at all 3 days before the start of a season to be playing ****ing friendlies. Then again football is run by FIFA the most incompetent organisation ever. IMO
I don't think bony will play either...shocking and unnecessary timing to play pointless friendlies...
