Our club's first game in the Premier League this weekend. As well as having a full squad available for the game at the 'ammers, we need a full squad on this CCFC forum. A lot of us including me got cheesed off with this board over the last couple of weeks for obvious reasons (and we don't want to go there again), but it's time for some serious football chat with old and new posters joining in. Come on Bobby and Dave - where are you guys? Anyone else just looking in but holding back from posting until the proper action starts?
Not holding back Sparks, just waiting, with a little bit of apprehension and excitement, for the new season to begin. Then there will be a lot more to talk about when the silly season (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silly_season) has ended and the WUM's will abate slightly. (not expecting them to disappear completely though)
What's the bit about a cheese board in the middle of your post? Totally agree though Sparkey, we need a full house on the pitch, on the terraces (ooops, showing my age there) and on this board. Absent friends, pissed off regulars, infrequent posters, casual observers, dust off your keyboards and get ready for the next installment of the rollercoaster ride that is Cardiff City. The more the merrier.
Hiya Sparkey, Can't wait for the real business and proper discussions to begin. Waited 40 years for this but to be honest couldn't be arsed with all the **** on here lately. Always followed your ever erudite posts though! Let the games begin and release the pit bull.
By the way - anyone see that article in that rag The Sun today? We apparently have the country's most violent fans and the most banning orders of any club. Tarred with a brush from years back eh? Journalistic scum of the worst kind. No up to date research - just try to grab a headline. Bunch of tossers.
I thought leeds had the largest number of banning orders. Can't change history but I hope that nonsense is in the past. Looking forward to saturday and beyond with, like most I guess, a feeling of excitement and trepidation. As long as we finish above 17th in our first season with the big boys I for 1 will be happy..for now lol.
Saturday, this coming Saturday, Saturday 17th August 2013, I have waited sooooo long for you to arrive. 40 odd years and you have finally arrived, Cardiff City at the top table. How do I feel? Oddly I am not too excited but I am sure when it gets nearer I will be a bag of nerves.
OK Sheepy, fair enough pal I hear you - let's make it a bit of a roll call ready for Saturday then! Who's out there looking in (apart from Jacks )
I'm here but hanging on by a thread with all the **** on here lately. My attempt at lightening the mood which only got a reply from Aber who it was aimed at despite the many posts from otherds arguing about money at the time almost made me give up completely.
Just read this as some kind person left a copy of the scum in the a&e. Really good reporting from the consumer editor. The consumer editor ffs.
I haven't bothered much during the summer with all the infantile crap on here. I have waited for every one of those 51 years and will enjoy the season. Just got to get used to losing a few more games this year. We will survive. Probably finish about 12th place.
All right lads, getting excited ? You seen the ref you're getting yet? Bigger ego than Mourinho good luck with him http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/aug/match-officials-appointments-17-21-august.html
Cheers Dilli Not bothered about Howard Webb. He has always been fair in games with us, win or lose. What bothers me more is the 4th official, one Keith Stroud. Here is an extract from a post I made last February after we lost at home to Brighton: - "I always thought that if something or someone goes against you: - Once - unlucky Twice - coincidence Three times - hmmmmm Four times - this needs looking into Therefore, what do the following four matches have in common as well as the fact that we lost and weren't at our best for these games: - Wednesday 17th August 2011 v. Brighton at home - lost 3 - 1 Saturday 4th February 2012 v. Blackpool at home - lost 3 - 1 Tuesday 6th November 2012 v. Charlton away - lost 5 - 4 Tuesday 19th February 2013 v. Brighton at home - lost 2 - 0 Any ideas? Let me tell you, a certain person by the name of Keith Stroud. He was the referee in all 4 games. Overall, he wasn't bad last night other than he refused to make positive decisions at critical moments. There were a few shouts for penalties, in particular a handball in the first half, the foul on Bellers and possibly one on Campbell in the second half. From where I was sat I couldn't make a judgement either way although the fans in the Canton/Grandstand corner, Bellers and Malky all thought the Bellers incident should have been a pen and possibly a second yellow for the defender. However, if I was in any sort of authority and if clubs have a say in such matters, I wouldn't want Mr. Stroud anywhere near any future games of ours. I'm not saying he is dishonest but at the least he is a bloody jinx we can well do without." See what I mean?
