I wasnt there, but seems alot of people are tweeting and facebooking that Fontaine (again) and fielding were two very stand out poor players today, anyone there who can confirm, or, state if it was more wide spread?
Didn't go but listened to the radio which had another flying lesson after their 4th and 5th goal went in. When we pulled it back to 3-3, I kind of expected us to lose one on the euphoria and no surprises as to who was the culprit although he did kick one off the line in the first half. BUT, when we got to 4-4, I fully expected us to go on to win
Just got in from the game. Fontaine - rightly - seems to be getting a lot of stick. SOD needs to strengthen the back 4 of that there is no doubt. I also worry about Fielding - he seems unsure when to come for the ball, and his kicking is awful. I think that the back 4 have no confidence in passing back to him, which seems to lead to uncertainty and problems. Was a very strange atmosphere at the game though.
I really don't understand the obsession that Bristol City have with Fontaine or am I the only poor fool...?
I am beginning to wonder if he has a "must play every game" clause in his contract, that or compromising pictures of one of our directors
Think he must have- cant see why the regularity otherwise- Be interesting if he is playing against Wolves. Kevin Doyle will be looking forward to that
Evening guys Rarely post (2nd time?!?) but will put my little bit in. Just got back from the game, via a few pubs and eateries. Yes, fonts was poor. nil communication between him and fielding for their 4th, seamed they wanted the other one to react and make the call on the situation. Both were making the right 'shapes' but lacked want and determination. Maybe the 1st half score line held over them still and they'd lost the drive... just hope we don't witness anymore football like that this season, like that from the first half. Too many hoof balls up the field which fell to cov for them to work it back towards our goal. Would say Fonts was at fault more so than Fielding, but i didn't think Franks confidence was there in the 2nd half (someone behind us mentioned a similarity to a James!) There was some flappy moments and uncertainties, goal kicks always went far right toward JET I found. Cant blame the wind as it was going the opposite direction and a cpl went out for cov throw-ins when under no real pressure. However he did come racing off his line a few times to put the ball out of play. There were a few what-if moment, if Sammy had found the net with his any of his 3 attempts in the first 20 mins or if JET had been allowed to play on after dancing in through 3-5 cov defenders, the ref blew to pull back play just as he was clear on goal and about to release the trigger... need to see the reasons for that on the lights. Well that was my view of the match from my little seat. I can only hope its a sharp learning curve that SOD will realise who to include/exclude from the starting 11 going forward.
You have given us in a few short words a better analogy than bloody Radio Bristol, cheers mate, let us hear from you a bit more, I think we would like it...
