Leicester have signed Ignasi Miquel on loan from Arsenal. That's a great signing for them, I really rated him and he could be their Ayala.

Ryan Shotton (the only man with a longer throw than Rory Delap) has been told he can leave Stoke. I'd take him on loan as cover, what would we have to lose?

Cardiff have signed Gary Medel from Sevilla for club record fee. Very good signing for them. Poster on their board are suggesting £11-12m!

QUALITY signing for Cardiff there. £10+ for a midfielder, £8+ for a defender, £8m+ for a striker.... For a newly promoted club that is just madness! And reports say that they arnt done yet with buying new players.

I can't, the players they've signed are actually worth the money they've spent. They'll be mid table. If that's the kind of competition we're up against I think a few of our fans are in for a bit of a shock this season.

Unfortunately i agree, we just can't compete with the other clubs to get these big players in, cardiff will stay up.. i jus't cant comprehend how we will finish ahead of 3 other teams, still my support will be at it's maximum whatever happens

Nah, it didn't work for QPR. It's more important to have a decent manager. Mackay will be like a rabbit in the headlights I think.

Cardiff are spending wiser than QPR ever did. They've also kept the same manager and the same nucleus of players.

QPR went wrong because they bought the wrong kind of expensive player, sacked the manager, hired 'arry and then let him spend even more money.

Cardiff have basically strengthened their whole team by adding 3 TOP quality players to the spine of their team, Striker, Centre Mid & Defender. You could say we've tried to do the same but on a much cheaper scale..

    This ^^

We've done the same, but the spine of our team last season was a loan goalie we no longer have, a good defence, a good midfield and a bollocks attack (Aluko aside). We've added to it, sure, but I get the feeling we're preparing for relegation by buying players who won't leave, rather than buying players with the sole intention of staying up. I don't mind either way because after the last PL fiasco, we need to make sure everything is above board. As long as we make a good go of it, I do't mind where we finish.

Palace are hoping to sign Darren Bent and William Gallas. Did not see that coming. They've also signed Marouane Chamakh on a free transfer.

Cant see them getting Bent.. Chamakh did **** all at Arsenal with decent service.. Dont see him being much of a threat at Palace.

We'll see re Cardiff. I personally don't rate Mackay, so the signings are largely irrelevant, still see them struggling. We've done much more than strengthen the spine, particularly when the midfielders arrive. I do think we're still missing something up front.

Same, I think they'll struggle. I put them in the relegation places on my prediction, and I'm not changing it one bit.

Apparently West Ham are in talks to sign Malmo midfielder and captain Jiloan Hamad. He looked really good against Swansea, especially in the 0-0 draw.
