On that basis Rooney, Bale and Suarez are going nowhere either.

Exactly my thoughts all summer TBF. Difference is though is that Rooney is (allegedly) unhappy, Suarez has publically said he want's to move and Madrid will eventually pay such silly money that Spurs will have to sell.

None of these (yet) apply to Luiz.

There's no way Barca would have bid if they hadn't been given the green light by Luiz's agent. Unsolicited bids simply don't happen in football.

Says who? Clubs bid for players all the time, some clubs even have bids accepted and players don't want to move. I believe that happened with Kaka and City?

    Nice try though.

The club would have sold Kaka for that amount of money but as you said the player didn't want to play for a club he'd never heard of. That bid wasn't unsolicited as the seling club were prepared to deal. Before a bid goes in someone on the selling side has said they're open to a deal.

So you admit Man United have told Chelsea they are open to a deal?

I think it's more likely Paul Stretford has told Chelsea his client is open to a deal.

That's not what you said, you said the selling side must have said they are open to a deal. That would be Man United.
If what you said is true and bids were not made unless the sellers have said they are willing to sell, then why do we keep getting clubs like Spurs and Man United coming out saying that their players are not for sale AFTER bids have been made.

I included the player and his agent in the selling side reference ie in the Fabregas bid I think his agent has encouraged United possibly to get Barca to commit to playing him more in his preferred position. I think Fabregas's silence on the deal speaks volumes. It seems everyone at Barca has commented on the matter apart from Fabregas.

In that case yes, but I think it is common knowledge that a club put the feelers on to a players agent first, before making a bid, to see if they are wasting their time. Because if the player doesnt want to go, then its pointless, even if the club are open to it.

That's what I said, there are no unsolicited bids. Before a bid goes in someone has intimated to the buying club that a deal may be possible.

John Henry has said Suarez won't be sold regardless of further, bigger offers received from Arsenal or any other club. Interesting and I'd love to see him stick to that and for the Glazers to follow suit with chunky. Won't happen though.

I think it might happen for Liverpool - they know, and have admitted, that without Suarez they won't stand a cat's chance in hell of getting anywhere near the top four this season, or any of the next two or three seasons for that matter. Even a sulky and half interested Suarez would be an improvement on the rest of what they've got.

For Utd it's a different story - a sulky and half interested Rooney isn't a significant improvement on our other players, so the negative impact of his presence in the dressing room may well outweigh the positive impact of his presence on the field. In that case, I can definitely see us flogging him abroad on the cheap, like we did with RVN and Heinze. Doubt it will be to Real Madrid tho', reckon Monaco, PSG or maybe Napoli would happily rustle up £25 mill if we offered him to them. Napoli would be quality - the fat waiter managing the fat monkey <laugh>

He'd be a massive flop if he moved to a foreign side. He's riddled with insecurities even when he's close to home and surrounded by his family and people/leeches. He also wouldn't be cut the slack he gets in England by being the national team's "best" player.

I agree with most of that bar the highlighted bit, I think a sulky Suarez would be even more of a liablilty than the non sulky one. He's a ****. a **** wth a grudge could cause them major issues.

I also think fat boy should be flogged abroad if he's not capable of knuckling down and doing his job for his 250k a week.

Sod Chelsea buying him, he would be a fine asset to them for the two seasons until he had something to cry about down there also. Was watching the champions league thing last night and it showed how capable a player he can be when fit and motivated.
