Well following on from Saturday, I watched Exeter v QPR last night as I am down here on holiday, I have to say they played their part in the game well organised played football on the deck more so than Saturday and had their share of chances on goal including hitting the cross bar, Parkin & O'flynn started on the bench and came on as a double subtitution in the second half, accordingly Exeter then played a little more direct, at this stage they were 2 down, in all fairness QPR did look to have the game under control for the most part, but I guess you would expect that, on the other hand Exeter were never at backs against the wall for long periods, and never afraid to play it out short from defensive situations. I have heard one or two remarks about Exeter being poor and favorites for the drop etc, on last nights performance this is unfounded critisism, they look more than capable of holding their own and have a plan B up their sleeves for attacking options, on this evidence I think we did very well to come out of the game last weekend as we did, almost snatching a point at the end!!
SoLong, I personally didn't think Exeter would be relegation candidates but I did expect us to get something from the game. I suppose a opening day defeat is nothing different to the norm. Exeter will be mid table I would imagine
losing cureton i thought would hurt them. reports of being broke as well i thought thet would struggle to be honest but sounds like i been proved wrong!
They were good value last night in all fairness, the main difference in the teams was the reading of the game, quicker and knowing where to take up positions, just what I would expect between a championship team and a 2nd division team, sounds like our game was the same?
watford was quality. we made it easy for them at times with errors but at times we made it hard for them too. i hope we didnt run ourselves into the ground and be tired for saturdays game.
