He'll make a good living as a hardworking lower league winger. The profit is appreciated and all the best to the lad.

Maybe we are freeing him to release some wages in order to bring in replacements. Mavrias for example.

I'm just glad he has gone. He doesn't deserve to earn a living as a footballer in England with his bigoted views. Any footballer at Sunderland who can disregard the memory of all of the Sunderland Players, Staff and Fans who perished in the last 2 world wars deserves nothing but contempt. To me what he did is akin to pissing up the Murray gates!

I would far rather have Mavrias if we can get him for the money we sell McClean for.

Mavrias is 5 years his junior, has played in the champions league since we was 16 and is capped for Greece at 18. He was also almost signed by Juventus last year. Now that is potential.

See your doing it again. The only Bigot here is you! can't just judge on his football can you, got to make mindless accusations about someone. Do you even know the lads back story and thought about the things he's witnessed as child?

His attitude seems dodgy at best and his talent seems to have been overrated by many (me included) based on his early promise. If we can cash in now, good.

I don't give a **** about his politics, although it seems he wants to take the best that our country can offer, without appreciating the sacrifices behind our way of life, which is a bit twatty. But it's his limited ability as a footballer that makes me want to sell...

Children learn by example, his influences and experiences have messed up his head, He's an innocent casualty of a war where both sides completely and utterly disgraced themselves. He's been daft but he hasn't abused anybodies rights.

I'm no Bigot. We all know his views exactly. We all heard and saw what he was writing on twitter.

Why should I care about what he witnessed as a child if he doesn't give a stiff about the 10s of 1000's of fellow Sunderland fans who were effected by the results of wars and conflict. As i've said before my Granddad never knew his dad. His dad was born County Mayo and came to the North East out of desperation looking for work. When the Great war came he was enlisted and fought for our freedom. He was injured by mustard gas in Ypres and died at home in his kitchen leaving his wife a 3 kids. I know people here who fought in the Warsaw uprising and I wear a poppy for the memory of not just them but also the people buried under the market place in South Shields innocent victims. McClean is so thick that he probably doesn't know that the Irish also have use and sell the Poppy.

At the end of the day he is a professional footballer and paid incredible money to act in a professional manner. Unfortunately, the more tweeting he did the worse his football got.

    Good riddance.
