Following further investigation into comments made by Club Ambassador, Ledley King, on Sky Sports News last Thursday afternoon, we can confirm that we have indeed found something living in the White Hart Lane pitch over the course of the summer.

Ahead of Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Espanyol, we shall be making a further announcement tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, so please keep an eye on this website to find out more.
At this stage, all we can say is that we are experiencing something of a mini pitch invasion...watch this space!"

Does anyone know what King said to SSN on Thursday?
I feel that there's a hint in the page address, whatever a turfie is.

there was something in the 92live feature. Ledley King mentioned about "something living under there" (the pitch). then sky cut the video off.

I dunno if they went back to WHL to discuss it further, as I didn't see any of SSN's 92 live show. - (I am currently on strike with SSN, but that's another story)

I have a feeling that it's some sort of stupid promotional thing. Maybe a mascot replacement or something to interest kids.

If it's on the pitch it could be grass, an anagram of Turfies is Surfeit meaning an excess, when their is an excess of grass it needs cutting, the excess grass can be rolled into a BALE.

Ledley announced some NEWs

The opposite of Surfeit is Deficit, to get smaller or to CONTRACT

The words BALE NEW and CONRACT tend to jump out, or perhaps I am reading a little too much into it <whistle>
