When the OP says 'missing link' - does he mean the link between ape and man? Cos for me that's Bale! ;)

Rooney does have the look of a neanderthal, albeit a bald one, and could well be descended from the "missing link"
in mans evolution. He is also prone to behaving like a Rock Ape, so your theory has merit.
Bale seems to be more like a spider monkey, with his long limbs and spindly build, meaning he comes from a different line of primates.
That said, I would welcome either of them with open arms. All we would need to do is to put in a big climbing frame for them at Cobham !!!!
