Diego Capel from Sporting Lisbon is apparently available for £6m. At that price let's let Stoke have Pilks for £5m and bring him in!
We were linked with him in June, good price for a quality player. I don't think we should be selling to our premiership rivals though!
Perhaps wait until we've played a few games that mean something? I think you're taking this a bit personally by the way fella, like I've said a few times I'm not having a go at any individual in particular, rather the feeling I am getting that some people (not necessarily you) have made their minds up already, which quite frankly is ridiculous if you ask me
if rvw and hooper start together against everton and both score, it won't mean they are going to be a great partnership. equally, if neither score it doesn't mean it won't be great. partnerships often take time to develop - not always, sometimes players hit it off immediately - but its important not to make rash judgements based on one, two or even five games. good players tend to find a way and both our forwards are good players.
I don't think they will get a look in, Fer will be well up for it after the shenanigans in Jan. Would be great if he got a goal, all those upset Toffee's!
Of course they don't expect to walk into the team irrespective of form or whatever. But if both are fit and playing well, IMO both will expect to be selected. Likewise, if Quagliarella comes in, adding to the competition, he will expect to play, i.e. all three will expect something other than a single striker with Wes Hoolahan or Howson behind him.
My thoughts too. If fit and unless they have a disasterous loss of form both will expect to play and I cannot imagine that CH will have bought two players of that quality not to play them. I agree that they need to be playing well enough to justify selection but if so neither will expect to be benched for us to go 4-5-1.
but robbie, this applies to ALL footballers, not just the new signings. every player wants to play but they can't all do so. if a player is on form they will think they should be in the team ahead of others but its down to the manager whether they get selected or not and its a squad game these days - there will be a little rotation but also more specialised selection for certain games. its certainly not a case of 'he's fit, he plays' anymore. players cannot turn up here expecting to start games, that's all i'm saying. we won't play both just for the sake of it or because we've spent a lot of money on them!
https://twitter.com/JuventusFF "Quagliarella nearing a move to England. Juve & Norwich are very close to reaching an agreement over the striker's transfer" Seem to be a lot of rumours in the last hour on twitter
Depends if it's true we have had a bid accepted or not. Everton haven't even got a bid accepted yet as far as I'm aware.
