Who cares about comparison at there ages etc. Hoolahan is playing premier league football and is one of our most important players where as Lansbury is plying his trade in the Championship. If he was that good he would of had a move to us a couple of years ago or another premiership team.

Cant believe I'm actually having to say this, but there is no contest and I think 99.9% of Norwich fans would agree. Hoolahan is better than Lansbury!

'Leave it there' ...Since you haven't contributed a damn thing....including failing to make the comparison I requested, simply because you apparently can't... The only thing you did was to chuck unsubstantiated abuse from behind your keyboard.

Hoolahan is 31. How many seasons has he played in the Premiership? Lansbury is 22. I think I would rather trust the judgement of Wenger and Pearce - the former I've already referred to. The latter who said missing Lansbury was the reason England performed so badly in the Euro U21s. As I said the reason Lansbury isn't playing in the Premiership is because of his old problem of ego and attitude, which he has now addressed.

Wenger who got rid, and Pearce who got sacked <doh>

Hoolahan cant help the fact he is 31. Just cos Lansbury is younger doesn't make him a better player <doh>

Wes on a regular basis can beat 1 or 2 plays with one flick of his foot and he'll suddenly be moving into space. Against Man City he played and incredible cross field ball to Snoddy to set up Holt. Against... A team I can't remember off the top of my head, I think it was Wigan, He got a little stuck in possession on the edge of their area, got straight up, tackled the defender and set up a goal all at once. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for his work ethic. For a little guy he really throw himself about. He has brilliant touch and control. I'm not going to say he is perfect. He can be very frustrating, will try to over complicate a pass and lose it. But at least he tries things and he makes a huge difference for the team creatively. Lansbury is a different type of player. Quicker and more direct when on the ball but I don't think he has the same touch and vision as Wes (Though I haven't watched much of him since he played for us). Still a good player and I said earlier that I wouldn't mind him here, but to say he is leagues better than Wes is preposterous.

So where the **** has all this Hoolahan's dad is bigger than Lansbury's dad spring from. <doh>
Wes is a NCFC player and Henri isn't.
Debating who we'd 'like' or aspire to' sign is objective.

Everyone of us has their own 'wish-list'
Why don't we keep it that way <ok>

The point was you asked why isn't Lansbury in the Prem, hence the age comparison, although obviously he has played a few games there. Hoolahan never played in the Prem until he was 29. Lansbury signed a new contract with Arsenal just after the start of the new season in 2011 - he was sold (having obviously gone on loan returning to Norwich and West Ham) for his attitude problems, not his footballing ability.

What was that song? 'Meet the new wum, same as the old wum?'

Can't remember, it was something like that.

Colk, while at Arsenal, Lansbury was described by both Wenger and Brady as one of the most technically gifted young players Arsenal have ever had. He has played in a variety of positions since he left Norwich (from being on loan, not when he left us as a schoolboy). For England U21's he has played behind a lone striker, in the centre of midfield and on the right of midfield.

I agree that he is a good player and I would have no problem if we got him in. I still think Wes is better though.

So(!), with around 2 weeks left til it kicks off do you think we will get anyone else in?
    What do we need?

I would like another CB and an AM.

    What about you?

I still think we need three players in personally , a CB an AM & for sure another striker.
The striker more than anything, we do look light in that area with only three.

If we are going to play both RvW and GH, rather than an AM I would like a midfield "recycler" (unless of course Leroy Fer turns out to be that man; haven't seen enough of him yet). I agree about a CB. We need a "cultured" one; Rusty is sound enough defensively, but lacks the confidence to play out rather than hoof forward when under pressure. Toby A would have been ideal IMO. <ok>

Not overly concerned with only 3 strikers - especially if CH plays 4,5 1 away from home; as I thinkk over half of our goals last season were scored by midfielders and full backs. Could always look again in Jan. Pretty much agree with CB and an AM, but at least one could be covered by a loan player.

is this manky chap talking about the same henri lansbury as the rest of us?

the one who isn't even a regular at nottingham forest? and he's comparing him to hoolahan?! no contest in terms of natural ability although i'll concede lansbury is a decent player, but he's still only championship quality as it stands. would be a waste of a squad place as he isn't as good as howson currently is and plays basically the same role as him. hoolahan gives us something completely different and even if he wasn't playing regularly he'd be a 'must keep'.

i've been back and forth in my thinking over the summer but i agree with pablo - i think we do need a decent centre back if possible and a link man, someone who plays in the hole <ok>

i wouldn't be surprised to see a loan AM come in, nick powell maybe.

Have to disagree about Rusty who is well confident to play forward just think he was more disciplined under Mr H last season
Having said that I think Whittaker is better at that forward run that unsettles the oppositions formation
