That Scott Wagstaff grabbed his first goal for Bristol City today?

Indeed I did and have already pointed it out in another thread.

Not being his proud parent (like some I could mention) I did not feel it justified a separate thread on this board.

I wish we had him today to repeat his spectacular against Bournemouth on opening day two years ago. More chance of Waggy equalizing for us than some we had out there.

Why not? Your kids grow up and move on out of your life. But your football club stays with you to the grave. (Unless it enters its grave before you do like Third Lanark).

Too many exclamation marks, by the way.

Good Heavens! Someone else remembers Third Lanark!
Say what you like about Scottish football, you don't get names like that (or Queen of the South) in England. Well Maybe Accrington Stanley.

I did, GMR - left a post on the Bristle board, too and sent a couple of 'what did I tell you' e-mails to City supporters at work last night. Apparently he had a really good game.

Good luck to him, hope he can have a consistent, productive run.

My all time personal favourite Charlton player joined us from Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.

My then wife's favourite around the same time was another Scot, Charlie Wright. She would bump into him suspiciously frequently in Sainsbury's, Lewisham.

I had a friend who played for a team called "Pearsland Rovers". He suffered a broken ankle, and while he couldn't play he took over the trainer's duties. On a trip up north I went to see them play a team called Knockentiber, who had recently won the Scottish Amateur Cup. They lost 24-0, and not too long afterwards they changed their name, because they got fed up with jibes about the 24-0 loss.
